  1. Wait we don't want to link to X at all anymore or that specific account? I'm guessing you are referring to the specific account and now that I think about it, the account had that stupid pepe thing. It didnt even click with me until this morning. Apologies @Outshined_One and the board. Definitely not the image I want to project here.
  2. So this is going around Bears twitter tonight and people are saying that it means Caleb isn’t a franchise guy because he got duped. We really are the dumbest fanbase
  3. We wouldnt be Cubs fans if we weren't malignantly optimistic I guess
  4. Flipped on a dime and now PSU is sitting pretty. Very fun game. @Andy and @Derwood should have made some sort of fun bet for this game
  5. Beating the SP+ number 14 team at home and the SP+ number 33 team on a neutral field is not really going to do much to convince the people that throw out stats like 'James Franklin is 4-19 against Top 10 teams' that he's suddenly learned how to win big games. Also SMU being conference champion is pretty iffy. Yes they were the regular season conference champion, but they played the 2nd easiest P4 conference schedule in the country. And then they lost to a 3 loss team in the conference title game. Dammit I was trying to be somewhat cordial about Penn State and you ruined it lol
  6. Oh man James Franklin's gonna make it to the title game without breaking his 'cant win a big game' stigma. I'm mostly kidding, if they win tonight the monkey is off his back. Getting to the championship game is very impressive even if their road up to this point was extremely easy.
  7. If only our team was as consistent as George is. Oh wait, we are.
  8. I want Ben Johnson or if not him an offensive minded HC. Full Stop. But I don't hate the idea of a floor raiser...someone with a proven track record of building a winning culture. I don't particularly like McCarthy, but if Tomlin was available for instance, I'd be all over that (if the big offensive options werent available). 18 years with the Steelers, 0 losing seasons. That's incredible to me even if his ceiling is not that great. I bet he'd get the Bears into the playoffs next year though. Or maybe Pete Carroll but he's been out of the game for a few years and he's really old so I'm not sure if its a good move, but apparently he really wants the job and is trying to assemble a staff. But again, Ben Johnson should be the focus. Developing Caleb and building an offense to match his talents should be the number 1 consideration on any offseason decision. "Does this help Caleb succeed?"
  9. I don't see whats wrong with that as long as he can replace the assistants when they inevitably leave. He build a strong culture and has an ultra aggressive mindset that the players seem to feed off of. We'll see how he does after Ben Johnson and Aaron Glenn leave which seems like this offseason. BTW Ben Johnson declining to take a HC job last offseason in order to "finish the job" says a lot about the culture Campbell built, even if the HC options weren't ideal for him.
  10. Yeah and Hamp and OB trashed him all season on their postgame shows, talking about his snap count and how much he was being paid. Also with the Bears not having a great pass rush I'm sure he was double and triple teamed a lot when he was on the field. Tough situation to be in.
  11. Thanks..different from what I saw on my brief google search but I believe you, especially because no one said anything anywhere about this. Either way it worked out, but I was initially fretting about those 5 seconds when Caleb passed to the middle of the field. Looked like the 2 Packers who tackled DJ were trying to knock the ball away after he was down. If they did, there's a chance it would have taken too long to recover but he held on and quickly reset the ball. For a team that has repeatedly failed in these situations all year that was nice execution.
  12. Can we discuss the offense? I've watched the last 2 Bengals games and Burrow is just slinging it all over the place to Chase, Higgins, etc. Then I watch the Bears and its just WR screens and short dump off throws until there's a 2 minute drill where suddenly Caleb finds WRs downfield. I am not sure why the gameplan with the WRs we have. I get that the line is terrible and under pressure and I get that we won the game today but we had like 280 yards of total offense and really nothing going most of the game. Obviously none of it matters because we'll have a new staff and hopefully a better designed offense but I just don't see how it helps Caleb develop to throw a bunch of screens all game. Feels like we didnt get to fully see what we have in him due to what he was asked to do.
  13. Nah, here is the snap Then they ran a play that was a sideline throw to DJ that ended with :15 left but as soon as they snapped it they threw the flag for illegal shift. The next play was snapped with :15 left. I googled illegal shift and it says: Yes, an "illegal shift" is considered a pre-snap penalty in football, and the play clock does not move when it is called; the offensive team is simply penalized 5 yards and must re-set their formation"
  14. At the end of the game the Bears snapped the ball with :20 left and got an illegal shift penalty called on them to lose 5 yards. But when the next play started there was 15 seconds left. Isn’t illegal shift a pre-Snap penalty thus no time should have gone off? I’m assuming I’m wrong because absolutely no one said anything.
  15. So basically in 6 divisional games, Caleb led the Bears in game tying or game winning drives in 4 of them. -The blocked FG against GB -the last second TD and FG drive vs Minnesota to force OT -the Thanksgiving debacle against the Lions -the GW drive against GB
  16. I don’t give 2 shits about draft position. We needed that so bad. The fan base, the team, everyone. We couldn’t end the season like that.
  17. YOU LEFT TOO MUCH TIME FOR CALEB WILLIAMS
  18. Wow hahah we’re not totally cursed
  19. Oh god here we go again
  20. Caleb needs to get the ball out in time. I don’t know if any receivers are open but every drop back leads to him holding and holding and holding the ball
  21. Now Caleb all the sudden has to throw downfield after not doing it all day
  22. Bears have their GW FG blocked, Packers make their GW FG. That’s the difference between these franchises
  23. Bears should be using TOs come on
  24. I’m pretty sure this franchise is designed specifically to anger its fan base
  25. Too many Packers TOs, too many Bears negative plays
