I want Ben Johnson or if not him an offensive minded HC. Full Stop. But I don't hate the idea of a floor raiser...someone with a proven track record of building a winning culture. I don't particularly like McCarthy, but if Tomlin was available for instance, I'd be all over that (if the big offensive options werent available). 18 years with the Steelers, 0 losing seasons. That's incredible to me even if his ceiling is not that great. I bet he'd get the Bears into the playoffs next year though.
Or maybe Pete Carroll but he's been out of the game for a few years and he's really old so I'm not sure if its a good move, but apparently he really wants the job and is trying to assemble a staff.
But again, Ben Johnson should be the focus. Developing Caleb and building an offense to match his talents should be the number 1 consideration on any offseason decision. "Does this help Caleb succeed?"
