McGuire was released by the Cubs and could have signed with any other team but came back a couple of days ago only to find himself in the majors with a multi HR game lol
In the 23 innings played this series the Reds have led at the end of 20 of them, the Cubs have led at the end of 3 of them and they have ended the inning tied 0 times.
thank goodness for the scoring surge at the end of the game Friday of this would have been a complete disaster of a weekend.
Honestly who cares he’s been hitting leadoff for years, clearly like him there. He’s streaky which can be frustrating at times but people do this every year and he eventually has a solid 3.5-4 win season
Is it July yet? Want to see what Jed cooks up for SP additions. The patchwork rotation has filled in admirably well but not sure how long it’s sustainable to have a staff with a couple of number 3 starters and 3 more marginal guys
I still would have gone phantom IL stint if possible. He was pretty reliable in 2023 and 2024. But whatever. Jed subscribes to the “relievers are disposable so let’s sign a bunch of them and see which ones turn out to be decent” philosophy
So hilarious that they just got done talking about how PCA surpassed Seiya for the MLB lead in RBIs by 2 and seconds later Seiya hits a 3 run HR to retake the lead.
This is seriously so much fun. We have the most exciting player in baseball on the Cubs and while Javy was freaking awesome, PCA’s ceiling is a good deal higher than Javy at his best
Well that was fortunate. No more damage, and Boyd only got to 34 pitches meaning if he can get it together he can still give 5 innings. 3 runs sucks but not impossible to overcome
