  1. Also Jesse Rogers said the final teams were the Cubs and Dodgers. 4/72 actually seems less than what I was expecting in terms of AAV
  2. Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha I can’t wait until they have a couple of off days in October and get bounced in the NLDS because baseball will always be somewhat of a weighted crapshoot no matter how good you are.
  3. I think rotations are very fluid these days. They will have the 5 full time starters in Steele, Imanaga, Taillon, Boyd and probably Rhea? Then there will be like 3 guys stretched out enough to make up to 5 inning starts when needed and MR/LR when not needed. If that means going to a 6 man for a couple of weeks during a particularly grueling stretch then they have the flexibility to do that. And of course it always sounds great on paper but injuries are inevitable so there will probably be 7 guys that get a decent amount of starts this year.
  4. I’ve long been praying that this is a Rocky Wirtz/Bill Wirtz situation and Michael Reinsdorf is respecting his father’s wishes until he croaks and then he’ll start making changes to make the team suck less.
  5. Has Eddie George ever been interviewed before for HC jobs? What has he even been doing? The Rooney Rule thing is interesting. Moves like this clearly look like an attempt to comply with the rule. But what's George going to do say no? If he does, they'll just bring someone else in. So of course he's not saying no, this is why the rule is in place. While its pretty clear Eddie George will not be the Bears next head coach, at least he can wow them and get his name buzzing. Don't know if there are any examples of this working and leading to a HC job, but I think the rule works even in situations where the team is just trying to check off a box.
  6. They aren't? And I'm saying this as someone who believes in Caleb and holds out hope he can equal or surpass Daniels with the right coach. Daniels' completion percentage for 6.5% higher His Y/A was 1.1 yards higher He rushed for twice as many yards He scored 11 more TD His passer rating was 100.1 compared to 87.8 His QBR was 23.7 higher I think the gap between their play this year is pretty large but by no means insurmountable. Caleb was dealt a really ****** hand and showed intangibles that we should be excited about (then again so did Daniels). Obviously need to make a leap next year and keep improving. It does suck to be sitting here in this situation again, but I still feel pretty good about things despite what we've seen so far.
  7. Meh, hopefully this is replacing the Wrigleyville jerseys
  8. Pretty much the only likable thing about the Brewers. And his commentary in the Major League movies was awesome. RIP
  9. The best thing about this season is the move to CHSN. I can't watch them so I don't and havent really spent much time thinking about them either.
  10. I'm really glad I befriended the guy on my kids soccer team that has had Fire season tickets for years.
  11. Yeah that's why I thought the QB thing was overrated for LV. You can get Fields, Russ, Darnold, potentially Cam Ward, Sanders, Ewers, Milroe in the draft. He can even grab Howell I'm sure 🤣 Would you take Caleb over every one of them, yes, but there are enough options out there to give him something to work with. That plus I'm sure they're offering him more money and they were willing to sync up their GM with him which he pretty clearly stated is what he wanted and I can see why he choose the Raiders if that's where he goes.
  12. True, but Johnson is being notoriously choosy about where he goes and the situation, etc. He likely would have already been an NFL HC this season if he wasnt so choosy Feel bad for Caleb if Johnson goes to the Raiders. He sounded like he was almost pleading for Ben Johnson on the St Brown Brothers podcast released today. He ended it with "and if its not Ben Johnson........it is what it is"
  13. Did anyone see that report yesterday that Ben Johnson was insisting that the Commanders keep Sam Howell as their QB while he was interviewing with them? The Commanders said 'no we're drafting a QB at 2 (Daniels)' and that was apparently the dealbreaker that caused the Commanders to turn their plane around. The report was coming from some Commanders people. I have no doubt Johnson could probably make Howell an above average QB (I just said this to trigger Kyle) and maybe Daniels doesn't fit his mold (or maybe he does I dunno I've been kinda disengaged from the coaching search), but given that, if I'm hiring Ben Johnson its probably better if you have your QB in place.
  14. Alright Kyle Darnold turned back into a pumpkin and Love isn’t a top 10 QB. Still think coaching plays a lot into QB development and Darnold had a fantastic year until the last few weeks, but I suppose they can’t work miracles
  15. 😂😂 They’ll have the finest new stadium in League Two
  16. There's no way that.....nah won't happen right?
  17. Hasn't the SEC been really solid the last few years? Had 8 teams in the tourney last year. I do remember thinking several years ago that the conference was Kentucky, Florida and maybe occasionally Tennessee but they've done a good job. It is definitely a little jarring when you see teams like Georgia being ranked.
  18. I went through the same thought track of Ben Johnson and the Cowboys and then immediately realized Jones is significantly worse than having a potential lame duck Ryan Poles as your GM.
  19. Numerous photos and videos of Brady socializing with players, coaches and front office types before games. I'm almost certain he will have some sort of contact with Ben Johnson, as its pretty much a job requirement to add insight to the broadcast based on conversations he has with people affiliated with the teams. Honestly, I don't think it's a huge deal, maybe I'm naive. It's more annoying and a clear conflict of interest that is so easy to fix by not assigning him to that game.
  20. "Hey Ben, the footballs might feel a little light for your players today, just go with it *winks*"
  21. This is absolutely annoying. Sorry Tom you cant be a color guy on TV and be an active owner of an NFL team (meaning helping to bring in coaches and FAs). You certainly shouldn't have extra access to a coach you are trying to woo. It probably not as big of a deal as I'm making it, but I'm assuming the Bears can't talk to Ben Johnson right now if they wanted to, while Brady can spend time with him to further try to sell him on the Raiders. This is a really easy fix, just switch commentators and put Greg Olson and whoever he works with (I barely pay attention to announcers and what they have to say) on the call. I know Olson is a former Bear and has spoken positively about them even after being traded but he doesn't have a vested interest in him coming to the Bears like Brady does with the Raiders.
  22. Ok after that doink went in after the number 2 pick led his team to a playoff win I’m convinced this entire operation is designed specifically to horsefeathers on the Bears.
  23. I desperately starting searching for a stream when I saw Spurs go to extra time and were forced to bring in Son, but they scored and I couldn’t find a stream so I just settled for looking at highlights on Twitter like this: I think I read that dude is a construction worker during the week lmao
  24. Vrabel was my number 2 I think after Johnson
  25. I get it. Trust me I do. All I get in my feed is right winged crap. But it’s still the dominant source of real time news sharing until BlueSky or whatever completely takes over. Banning all tweets would do a disservice to the forum. But I’ll absolutely be more careful about who’s tweets I’m sharing in the future
