  1. Yankees got Clint Frazier to pair with Rutherford Really interested to see the entire package for obvious reasons. Lucroy under contract next year and Miller for the next 2 years so they may have gutted their farm but at least they gutted it for a multiple year window of competing
  2. Indians got Andrew Miller
  3. I was more agreeable to a 6th starter when we were up 15 games or whatever. Starting one against Felix Hernandez doesn't seem like a very good way to win the rubber game of a series but hopefully it works out. Not to mention it ensures no Lester/Jake in the Marlins series where they throw their 2 top starters and probably Cashner in the other
  4. I know Aroldis & Rondon are here to put out fires and they will most the time. Every one in awhile someone will rip an opposite field gapper off them taking their heat the other way. But, giving them a clean slate inning to start with & they are goin to be damn near perfect. Not necessarily unbeatable but it will be very Rare to beat. Coupled with Jakes struggles of late. Seemed like an easy decision.. its very hard to string together multiple base runners against our duo. It was also hard to string together multiple base runners against Arrieta today. How many had he given up before the 8th? 3? Yes and all 3 of those base runners were in the same inning I think
  5. That was the 9th XBH that Chapman had allowed to a lefty in his career. I don't blame Maddon for putting him in there. He's like 99.5% likely to end the inning at least tied. The 0.5% won out today
  6. Welp miserable loss. Just when you think the Cubs are finally starting to go on a roll you get a game like this. Boggles my mind that the Cubs could possibly be 1-6 in Jakes last 7 starts
  7. This is like a 9 on a scale of frustrating losses if we can't come back. Garbage pitcher completely stymies your offense keeping up with your ace: 4 points Shiny new bullpen toy blows the game: 3 points Ace dominates all game and then starts getting squeezed leading to the tying and go ahead runs scoring and ruining his previously stellar line: 2 points
  8. Well hope the Cardinals don't win for the 30th time in a row. This was one we should have won. (Obviously we can still come back in 9th)
  9. Good to see they aren't squeezing the Mariners like they did Jake
  10. Oh this is going to be a frustrating game now where the Cubs start hitting line drives at fielders
  11. Because we lose all the Arrieta starts now. Hey now we did win 1 of those last 7 Jake starts
  12. Wow Jake is cruising and starts out up 0-2 to the 8th place hitter with Rondon and Chapman fresh. How could 3 runs have possibly scored there?
  13. They really should have used Chapman here. 2 of the first 3 hitters are left handed. Even if the PH is righty he's probably bunting and good luck bunting with 102 MPH fastball. Rondon is noticeably worse against lefties (although still pretty good)
  14. Not a great way to finish your outing Jake but nice performance overall
  15. Ugh can't walk the lead off guy when up 0-2
  16. It also would have been cool if we scored 2 runs on 1 single, 1 walk, no errors and no stolen bases
  17. I think he was safe but I wouldn't have overturned it on those replays if you believe in the "conclusive evidence" judgement As Len mentioned New York has better angles and ive heard before the ability to zoom in with HD views. I'd guess they had a much more conclusive look in New York. I have the game on mute but that seems odd. Where are these cameras and why aren't they being used on the telecasts?
  18. Actually that very last replay CSN showed he looked safe. Oh well
  19. Mariners will flip their horsefeathers if they call him safe haha
