  1. For real. But they could come back blah blah blah. I don't care. Just move on
  2. Damn Hammel has nothing today. Oh well
  3. Geez. Figures after we burn up both our long guys yesterday it looks like we might need a lot of innings from the pen today.
  4. I think the Cubs were partying at a dispensary last night or something
  5. Hammel is working soooooooo slow. More annoying than even the results so far
  6. Georgie hurt again? Guess he's due to be hurt right around now.
  7. Nowhere good to put this so I'll just put it here: the Cubs are facing Jaxon tomorrow in SD
  8. So 3 relievers with spot starts Warren - 5 IP 1 ER (left w lead) Cahill - 5 IP 0 ER (win) Montgomery - 4.1 IP 1 ER (Cahill in relief 4.2 IP 1 ER) (win)
  9. Absolutely beautiful. Get an easy win and the entire pen gets a break (except Cahill)
  10. Ok 3rd market inefficiency: tell a popular but struggling player you are greatly reducing their playing time and watch them respond on the field
  11. Can't believe Bryant is hitting over .300 with an OBP almost at .400.
  12. Another market inefficiency: sac bunting with 2 strikes.
  13. Dammit wanted him to go 5. Hope we can get 3 from Trev and 1.2 from Grimm
  14. Relievers making spot starts is the new market inefficiency
  15. Don't you go regressing on me Georgie boy.
  16. Mike Murphy on ESPN 1000 this morning was drawing comparisons between last nights loss and the 1969 Cubs.

  18. Also for those ripping on Chapman (which is fine because of his off field issues) remember that he was pitching in his 4th game in 4 days and threw 24 pitches the day prior. He is almost certainly unavailable for today's game
  19. This loss lowers the Cubs winning percentage to .824 in August. They're now 69-4 when leading after 7 how are you NOT panicking?!?!?! That stat is crazy just because 3 of those 4 losses have come during a 18-4 stretch. And the 4th loss in the stretch was a game we led after 6. You would think those losses would have come in games before we fortified the pen or at least not during an otherwise perfect stretch of baseball (although our pen has been missing Strop and Rondon for half the stretch and "fortified" really means Chapman who blew 2 of the losses and Montgomery who hasn't really pitched in high leverage situations since coming here)
  20. The Cubs are now 2-2 in games where I go to bed before the outcome is decided. Waking up at 5 and finding out they won is more fun but ultimately losing sucks less than staying up and watching it.
  21. 95 percent of the time I don't care but blowing a late 4 run lead will upset me a tad. Especially when 3 of those 4 runs were scored on an error, ground out and sac fly
