  1. I have no idea how/why you guys still watch this team. Red Zone channel sometimes switches to the game.
  2. Not sure if anyone is watching but kind of fun bad to watch Bears being outplayed at home by a 1-10 team
  3. I wish I could have seen Michigan play Bama even though I agree Washington, Clemson and OSU (if you think their win over Michigan was legit #stillirrationallybitter)) were more deserving. I'm not sure our offense could get more than 14-17 points against them but I'd love to see if our D could shut them down. Oh well
  4. Maddon calling the rain delay "the perfect storm"....love it. Some really good stuff in there. His stuff about different catchers calling Chapman differently is interesting stuff. Also interesting just how wrong he is on Javy's numbers. I refuse to believe Chapmans fastball was fine and it was totally Miguel Montero that forced him to throw 90% sliders in the 9th.
  5. Well that sucks. Will probably out a few weeks. Hawks signed some dude that played goalie for the Temple club team as emergency backup for today.
  6. I'll always be extremely skeptical of the Cubs' reported interest in Ross. No one talks about it but the Cubs really, really put an emphasis on pitcher and arm health, Ross was littered with flags. Yeah but also littered with potential. I'm sure the Cubs interest in Ross was legit but not really sure if they were willing to give up much for him. It was probably a short conversation.
  7. Wait why was Tyson Ross non-tendered? Sounds like Bosios next great reclamation
  8. Good stuff. Loved seeing the party room in action!
  9. you know hes gonna take out his humiliation on the bulls tonight thats awesome though

  11. You're going to pass on the free broadcast airing so you can buy it instead? I'm sure there are a lot of bonus features on the blu-ray that obviously won't be in the actual broadcast tonight.
  12. Set my DVR already, cant wait
  13. McCutchen-Turner-Murphy-Harper top of the order is about as lethal as they come.
  14. Damn, Indiana fired Kevin Wilson...that's a step back for the program. https://indiana.rivals.com/news/report-indiana-fires-kevin-wilson
  15. What I'm saying is that even if you don't guarantee a GO5 champ a playoff spot, that's still better than their chances were with the BCS or 4 team CFP. Yeah I see what you are saying now. There was a nice little run where some GO5 teams made it to the top 8 of the standings (Boise State, TCU before B12, Hawaii, Cincinnati). But with the selection committee pouring over every teams resume, I am not sure if they award any of those teams a playoff spot besides maybe Boise State. If you reward 1 team a year from the other 70 non-Power 5 schools with a playoff spot, there is at least something to play for and maybe your coach stays instead of bolting to a P5 school. I'm sure there are good reasons why they wouldn't do this and most of them are likely economic and the consolidation of power between the big conferences, but whatever.
  16. If you're going to go to 8 teams you have to give 1 spot to the Top Group of 5 Champion IMO. If there is 0 chance that a non-power 5+ND team can win a championship in an 8 team playoff, those non-power 5 teams shouldn't even be playing FBS football I'm not really following the logic here. Doesn't this slightly increase the chance of a Group of 5 team winning a title compared to the BCS or a 4 team playoff? The bar would be lower than ever to gain entry, and while sure it's unlikely they'd win 3 games, Group of 5 teams are also 0-0 in BCS title games and CFP games. I am not sure what you are getting at. I'm saying to guarantee a GO5 champion a playoff spot because if you are going to have 8 playoff teams I think its important to ensure that every FBS team has a realistic pathway to a championship. Right now it would take an individual program with a multiple year run of success to the point where they feel comfortable scheduling solid P5 teams that they can beat, build up some name recognition, not have the coach bolt to a P5 program and then most likely go undefeated. I'm sure that GO5 team would be whalloped by the 1 seed a majority of the years but whatever, I guess thats a reward for earning the 1 seed.
  17. I can't wait for the first team that's out of the playoff race and slips some HGH in a players drink to limit service time.
  18. If you're going to go to 8 teams you have to give 1 spot to the Top Group of 5 Champion IMO. If there is 0 chance that a non-power 5+ND team can win a championship in an 8 team playoff, those non-power 5 teams shouldn't even be playing FBS football
  19. Isn't the B1G champion locked into the Rose if they don't make the playoff? I know normally those slots go to 'highest ranked team outside the playoff', but I think that's under the assumption that the champ is in the playoff. No I think that changed but I could be wrong. They were talking about how if Michigan was selected for the Rose Bowl and Colorado was the Pac 12 champ but didn't make the playoff, they might switch out Colorado so there wouldn't be a rematch. Either way, if for some reason the Rose Bowl selected Michigan over Penn State, PSU would almost certainly be selected for the Orange Bowl and play Florida State or Louisville instead of playing Washington, Colorado or USC.
  20. The new QO stuff is weird. Yes teams won't lose a 1st round pick but big market teams that sign a QO FA will lose their 2nd and 5th round picks AND 20% of their IFA money ($1m). That almost seems as severe or more severe than simply losing a 1st rounder don't you think? And because what you lose depends on where you are in the revenue sharing spectrum (if you receive rev sharing the penalty is only your 3rd pick and nothing else (which is likely a 2nd rounder for teams that get the small market comp pick), if you don't contribute or receive its a loss of 3rd rounder and 500k of IFA money.
  21. True. DL goes from 15 day to 10, as well. This is interesting. I wonder if we will see more people put on the DL with minor injuries than before rather than just keeping them out of the lineup for a few games.
  22. basically this went through my mind driving into work seeing 3 back to back billboards on 294 from wintrust toasting the 2016 world champs I have a 'moment' at least once a day where it dawns on me that they won the world series and I get a brief rush of endorphins as I think about it, and then I carry on with my day with a smile on my face.
  23. that explanation still made no sense because they didn't know who the teams would be The explanation was that as soon as the playoffs are set you know the potential host cities for games 1,2,6,7 and the potential host cities for games 3,4,5. There was some level of certainty. I'm not sure why the NHL and NBA don't have that problem with 16 teams to account for (or I guess 15 since worst record in playoffs cant get home court/ice). Of course their playoffs last 2.5 months so they have a little more time
  24. http://www.sbnation.com/2016/12/1/13804504/mlb-all-star-game-world-series-home-field-advantage-cba I love how for years they were like "it's too difficult logistically we have to reserve hotel rooms" or something and now they just randomly decide that it's doable now. Glad though. Also glad we could take advantage of the last year of the rule in a backwards way.
  25. no, they really don't by any definition of that word. but this game sucked. and we really need mcdermott and mcw back. and portis needs to be in the d league. I think they are a 6-8 seed, which is higher than I expected going in. Decent, good even, but not immune to these types of losses. disclaimer: have legit watched maybe 30 minutes of Bulls basketball this year. Rest of the time has been the game on in the background while doing other things. For some reason this team doesn't interest me as much as it should.
