  1. this is so ridiculous Fox is a coach, he's built nothing. Hendry had as much power and money as a gm could hope to have. He did what he wanted and failed. It's only like the 43rd most ridiculous thing he's said this week. Btw my irrational love for Cutler makes me want him just dominate the next few weeks even if it causes the Bears to have a worse draft pick
  2. Also, I'm pretty sure that Kyle doesn't want to be in the field for Game 4 so Lacey can contribute to blowing out his knee again.
  3. Yeah this is fine. I get that it's the World Series but it sounds like they are doing a mix of whats best for the team and whats best for Kyle. Will be nice to have his bat available at pretty much any point in the game the next 3 days.
  4. They also seem to be convinced that if the Cubs lose Game 3 that we will bring Lester back on short rest for Game 4. I really really doubt that and I think they trust Lackey enough to hand him the ball and hope Kluber is less sharp and effective.
  5. Haha I'm reading comments from an Indians blog, and someone said that the wind would be blowing in 20-30 mph on Friday, which got everyone else excited about how that helps Tomlin. Should we tell them or let the dongs tell them?
  6. It's like minny somehow absorbed the souls of every fan that has ever called into the Boers and Bernstein show.
  7. does any of this matter in 40 mph wins? i mean, its not 10, or 20. its 40. I hope so, but but holy horsefeathers Ground balls aren't affected by the wind. You have one of the better ground ball pitchers in the league going who also happens to be the best at inducing weak contact. He might give up a gopher ball or even 2 but I would guess that for the most part Hendricks is the ideal pitcher to have pitching in these conditions. Is my theory on Hendricks correct?
  8. they are now saying 40 mph winds blowing out. Is there any way to see historical wind records? I would have to guess that if the forecast is true, it would have to be among the top 5% windiest games ever at Wrigley Field (blowing out).
  9. I don't know where to put these white sox quotes...i don't think they deserve their own thread but i cant help but post things that they say about us.
  10. http://www.minorleagueball.com/2016/10/26/13416578/crystal-ball-kyle-schwarber-chicago-cubs Am I alone in thinking that this would be a disappointing career?
  11. This is an awesome read about Rizzo making an on-the-fly adjustment between Game 1 and Game 2 that directly led to his RBI double in the 1st http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/anthony-rizzo-jumped-the-game-plan/ Interesting was that the double was the 2nd most inside pitch he's turned into a hit all season, and the first was an IF hit.
  12. horsefeathers Miggy is less than 4 months older than me. I'm beginning to think I'm not going to be a professional baseball player.
  13. The Cubs have gone 8 World Series games without a dong. Last one was Game 1 of the 45 Series (Phil Cavarretta) I expect a Cubs dong party on Friday night.
  14. Hell it makes me feel better about the Lester start except he was actually pretty good.
  15. This whole thing still feels so surreal to me. I am a fan of many sports teams but the Cubs have always been #1, and seeing the Cubs in a World Series (much less winning one) has been my ultimate number 1 sports dream for as long as I can remember. When you want something and think about it so much and it actually comes true, it's kind of hard to really 'get' what is happening in the moment. Like I know the Cubs are in the World Series, I know they are 3 wins away from a title, but when I watch the games it doesn't fully click that this is what's happening, and I'm not sure it will until sometime over the winter. I'm not sure if what I said makes any sense.
  16. Seems like a good 3rd starter kind of outing. Good stuff but inefficient, sometimes issues with command. Sometimes that bites him, many times it does not.
  17. It's been 2:50 since first pitch and we're just entering the final 1/3rd of the game
  18. You superstitious? Not officially no but it's been 5 innings and it's clear based on his pitch count he's not going to finish it, leading to a potential much less sexy combined no-no
  19. Are you serious Fox? Gonna have a graphic announcing that he's pitching a no hitter stay up the entire time?
  20. They did. He pinch ran for Soler after he walked last inning And then also acknowledged him staying in RF defensively. And then there was mid inning interview with Heyward as he played RF in the previous inning.
