  1. This is PRECISELY how Mormons operate. Ever been to a Mormon Dance?
  2. Makes sense. In that article by Melisa she stated that Jessica was one of her best friends in the Cubs wives circle. Under the potentially lazy assumption that the Harpers and the Bryants agree on most things, it kinda takes away from the argument that we are trying to not piss off Boras and screw up any Harper negotiation. The fact that they are pissing each other off is a good sign, imo. It means they are negociating.
  3. I've seen it too, and I can't get myself to read through any of the Addison apologist/men's rights activist [expletive] all over the horsefeathering place. Hell, I'm someone who used to regularly watch Fox News, and even occasionally stomach visits to dark places on the web such as The Daily Stormer, simply to educate myself more about how the full spectrum of morons to monsters view the world and craft their arguments. I can't get myself to have exchanges with the garbage people anymore. Yeah, that stuff is no good for you. I feel like I can get a decent idea of how horrible people can by just living life. No need to seek it out. Hell, a co-worker's husband decided the Christmas party was a great place to decry homosexuality. I barely got out of there without the Mrs taking a swing at him. I was kinda proud of her, but still.
  4. I'm curious how many will do this on this board. It would be a hell of a statement. A statement? Yeah, I can just imagine the headlines now... I think it basically just comes down to your own personal conscience and sanity. Btw, anyone know a good tat removal service?
  5. You're assuming that we all also watch the NBA or the NFL. You're also acting like this (domestic abuse) isn't a "common occurrence" in baseball. You're also acting like simply watching a game automatically means someone is making money for a team. Basically your priorities in all of this are calling out the people fed up with it as opposed to the abhorrent human being the Cubs are willfully employing as a player. Sorry to assume you guys watch other sports in between posting. Baby momma #2 isn't talking about domestic abuse at all. Don't make that leap. She's mad she got paid in small bills and quarters and that Russell isn't in the babies life. The domestic abuse "occurrences" in football are on another level compared to baseball. What is it about the NHL that allowed it to get a pass? Hmmm. HMMMMMMMMMMM.
  6. There are a lot of horsefeathering issues at hand.
  7. That is not the claim. The claim is that you are nit picking over verbage to identify the coin payment recipient (which is precisely what your "lazer focus" comment was decrying). David was pointing out that Brian's story from a while ago is the same story that was recently posted to instagram. One of your comments made it seem like this happened more than once. Now, maybe it did happen more than once, but we have not even a rumor of that happening. I think there was just confusion mixed with defensiveness, which is never a good recipe.
  8. Those seem like the actions of a contritious, stand up young man. ...why is he on this team, again? Man, horsefeathers Theo.
  9. I'm a Packer fan. Rodgers wouldn't be the team's problem if he were turning 40, even if he does have this no-INT, 6 sacks a game fetish thing going on. The Packers are just run by dipshits. They spent Rodgers' best years refusing to bring in any talent in FA, and then when they DO decide to dip into the coffers, they blow it all on the corpse of Jimmy Graham, who was clearly toast two years ago, and a bunch of old fart defensive players, most of whom, not stunningly, got hurt. They don't have much to speak of in terms of awesome young talent. The Packers will be good for 6-8 wins so long as Rodgers is playing, but the rest of the Packers blow big time. (I can't tell if Devante is actually good or not. MAYBE he's ok, too.)
  10. ...why would you think the Packers would be better?
  11. I made an Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade reference in that thread that I'm still pretty proud of.
  12. And we'll get confirmation in March?
  13. Nah, but this is as good a time as any to confess that I was the one who got mad at IMB for some dumb reason and tried to send him GOT spoilers at his work e-mail. I think he blamed Sully. i'm no got watcher, so i could be wrong or i could be missing a joke, but didn't' that cause a huge blow up between them? lmao He got pretty mad at me for making the "Sublime or Rockapella" poll, too, which was a spinoff from the Music thread, which also had some politics mixed in there. It wasn't all GOT related, but yeah, that was a thing.
  14. He who smelt it, dealt it.
  15. Yes and yes. ...but if you ask Boras, the answer is no and no.
  16. ah so you're white & straight I'm surprised you didn't mention "privileged" too That was implied. I already know your opinion but I'll ask it anyways, do you think white straight guys don't enjoy privileges? I mean, can you name a person who owns a baseball team that isn't a straight white guy? I can only think of one, and he spends more than PTR, and he supports a few progressive things, so to Boombox's other absurd point where he asks what more we could hope for out of an owner...
  17. Telling someone to grow up? Sammys advice was dead on and your response proved it. You sound a little triggered. But while we are back on the subject of telling people to compartmentalize their opinions of how the world works as if there is some kind of virtue in that...I mean, constantly harping on politics all the time can obviously get tiring, but pretending that walling off how certain things in our lives effect others is foolish at the least, and possibly dangerous. I especially disliked the part of Boombox's screed where he ends it with "can't do anything about it anyways." Well, at the very least, you can bitch to people on the internet about it, but be it politics or sport fandom, there are multiple obvious things to be done about it. If some guy on the internet finds it convenient to his lifestyle it to walk around with blinders about its different aspects, it doesn't follow that I should do the same, or that I should even respect it. Boombox is happy and fancies himself noble because he chooses to ignore negatives aspects of the world at his convenience. How nice.
  18. No, you need to grow up. Also, it's fun to have a team that buys talented players. It's not fun to have them choose profit over said talented players. How do you know they are choosing profit over talented players?
  19. Whenever I read "You all need to" and it isn't followed by "brush your teeth regularly," I check out, because I definitely don't need to do what a guy from the internet says.
  20. This has Michael Shoemaker written all over it.
