  1. Philly and the Giants have to win one and lose one for the Bears to win one and lose one to get the #2 seed.
  2. Yeah you are right. They hadn't won a playoff game before Favre since Culpepper in 2004. Either way, Jackson/Frerrote did not win three in a row as QB of the Vikings.
  3. What the [expletive] is that supposed to mean? He also conveniently ignores that Favre was one of the top 3 QB's in the league last year so that whole first part of his rant doesn't really fit. His obsession with Favre is bizarre. He will go anywhere to rant about him and the whole thing started because he thought he was a traitor for becoming a Viking after being a Packer. Tarkenton is wrong on numerous occasions in that article. The Vikings only won one playoff game in 2009, not three in a row with Jackson and Frerotte since that was their only playoff win under Childress. Frerotte did play some that season, but you really can't say that they won playoff games with him since he was sitting on the bench. The Packers and Jets did not give up on Favre since Favre retired on them. I have a feeling Favre would have still played the year after he gave up the INT to the Giants in the NFC Championship game with the Packers if he hadn't told them he was going to stay retired and Green Bay went out and drafted two QBs. Favre had a great year last year and I don't think McNabb would have been any more productive with this Vikings team than Favre was this year with Rice being out. McNabb is having the worst year or his career. I dislike Favre just as much as the next guy, but I really don't think there was a better QB than Favre available. Vick wasn't going anywhere.
  4. As usual, the suspensions will hurt the team and the university more than the individuals involved.
  5. LUCKY TEAM! I hope the Bears get every single break they can. Who is their backup QB?
  6. Maybe after losing job after job after job has changed the man.
  7. Larry Brown fired by Jordan. Is there really a better coach out there than Brown for that job?
  8. The Bears are assured of a home playoff game even if they lose out right?
  9. Drinky was in agreement with Terry too. It was three against one. I'm not certain that Jay isn't a hard worker, he is just the typical NFL QB. think Jay probably works as hard as the average QB, but I don't think anyone has ever said that he puts in the extra effort. That is partially why Vick is having the season he is this year. He has admitted multiple times that he was the last one in and the first one out. Dan doesn't think there is much behind leadership. But it was either Terry or Drinky that pointed out that people don't want to let Bellichick or Brady or Manning down and that brings out the best in players. I'm not sure Jay has that sway yet.
  10. Sully. He had the tools to be elite, but I don't think he will ever get there. But I still think he can win a Super Bowl and that is really all I care about. I don't know if this is true, but the Boers and Bernstein show has been pointing out that they don't think Jay works as hard in the film room as the other elite QBs.
  11. Bell needs to become the second string back. Taylor is hurting the team.
  12. Why did Collins come back to coach this terrible team when he had a cushy job with TNT and he was good at it?
  13. Is Devin Hester now a Hall of Famer? Brian Mitchell isn't, but if Hester ends up with 20-25 returns for TDs, I could see it.
  14. You can do that when you have an all-time great QB. Angelo drafts well every year, outside of his number one picks. And you will have a hard time being a great team and a well-run organization year after year if you fail on your number ones.
  15. Urlacher should be in for consideration for DPY too.
  16. Any chance this game will get moved to the 3:15 slot? It is by far the best game of CBS' lineup.
  17. Who else is going to be in the running? While I think Peppers has played as well as anyone, I don't think 8 sacks is going to get him that many votes. Polamalu was in the running, but will likely miss the rest of the season. I think missing 3 games takes him out. Clay Matthews was in the running, but he's now 2nd in sacks and won't win unless he has 2 big games and the Packers make the playoffs. Maybe John Abraham if you're looking for the best defensive player on one of the top teams. Yeah it could be him. Atlanta does have an underrated defense. He doesn't have much help on the line and he constantly gets doubled yet still manages to get double digit sacks.
  18. I wouldn't call that a laser. It got the job done but the throw itself wasn't all that pretty. It was a Chip Caray kind of laser. Says the guy who hates everything Jay Cutler. I hated him when he threw four picks to Hall, but he has been great the last 5 games or so. I've made that pretty clear. The "laser" was into the wind and I doubt he could have put a ton more on it so I don't blame Jay for not throwing it on a line.

  20. Fixed for minnesotacubsfan. it was fantastic out there, ladys and gents. and no, I don't have any relatives involved in the stadium design/construction (although a few classmates). I just thought the "OMG THE FIELD IS DEADLY" crap the past few days was completely overblown. it didnt seem to bother the Bears at all, they scored 40 friggen points on it. I thought Major Wright was going to be seriously injured after he hit the camera tower. The field held up OK because it didn't snow for most of the game.

  22. I thought you can go helmet to helmet on running backs? Except Jay Cutler isn't a running back Then the helmet to helmet rule has exceptions which was my point. Helmet to helmet on a passing QB is supposed to be called every time. There aren't exceptions for height and field conditions. Running backs are a completely different situation. That is like saying there are exceptions to pass interference since you are allowed to tackle a player once he has the ball. I am aware of that. But the original point was that "helmet to helmet is helmet to helmet" which it isn't because the exception is the running back.
