  1. True, but I think that is only part of being a good deep threat. Someone like Steve Smith doesn't have size, but he is feisty when he comes to going up and getting the ball when he doesn't have a step on the defender. I don't know if Hester and Knox are at that point yet.
  2. he called him the weak link after the third win in a row. Yeah I think I said it then too.
  3. Yeah at one point I thought he was. After the concussion and during the Seattle and Washington games his rating was like 62 and he had 4 picks and 1 TD.
  4. Yeah, that was a bad hire pretty much right from the beginning. Did anyone have any idea he would act like this (driving out Cutler, Marshall, spygate Broncos style, and drafting Tebow) beforehand?
  5. Good move. Now that the Broncos are out of the playoffs, you might as well start rebuilding without McDaniels. Too bad they didn't get rid of him before he drafted Tebow.
  6. everything you say is idiotic. You don't know a damn thing about football. I had to quote this because it's the truth. After reading this entire thread, your argument makes zero sense and you come off as a stammering bumbling bafoon when trying to explain how you think Jay Cutler doesn't throw deep balls, can't make good decisions and how the offense has phased him out since the bye. Your "argument" is not pointing or articulated, but rather stupid and all over the place. How can I really consider your post when I didn't say one single thing you said I did in context? If you are going to jump in at the end, at least quote my inarticulate and stupid argument correctly. Where did I say he can't make good decisions at all? I said under pressure he is a bad decision maker. That would mean when he is not under pressure he is a fine decision maker. I also said that you give the guy an average line he will be a Pro Bowler. The offense has phased him out? You were probably referring to my post when I said the Bears are still throwing the ball all over the place. Does that sound like I said that the offense has phased Jay out? Why even post if you are going to over exaggerate everything I say? What point does that prove?
  7. Sure. You don't have a big guy to throw the ball to deep where he can go up and get it. The line doesn't give Jay the time to do it anyway. I don't really remember the type of offense Martz had in St. Louis with respect to deep balls, but I guess they really didn't throw bombs much. Since the Bears have quick, shifty receivers Martz certainly seems to be drawing up plays where YAC can come. In that respect the receivers are a good fit for what Martz wants to do.
  8. The NFL placed divisional games at the end of the season to try to force teams not to take games off if they have wrapped up a seed. It isn't an issue this year.
  9. I think it is a little of both. Jay is not a good decision maker when under pressure. that is absurd. You think Jay is a good decision maker? I think that is his biggest weakness. but you also think he is the weak link so i really don't put much stock in that assessment. his decision-making has saved our butts plenty of times this season. And it has hurt it too (the Washington game). He has to be better at this. And he has been. In my opinion, Jay was the weak link. Not anymore.
  10. Yep, but their defenses look nasty good.
  11. That was my reaction when Minnesota picked up NIU's football coach.
  12. I think it is a little of both. Jay is not a good decision maker when under pressure. that is absurd. You think Jay is a good decision maker? I think that is his biggest weakness.
  13. I think it is a little of both. Jay is not a good decision maker when under pressure.
  14. I can't believe there weren't about 8 flags for that hit. The NFL needs to figure out how to get the refs to enforce their mandates on the shots to the head rules. I'd be shocked if that Ravens player doesn't get fined tomorrow, and that absolutely should have been a flag. Guys have gotten flagged for a lot less. The refs said there should have been a fine for that hit.
  15. Dude seriously stop being intentionally stupid. I really don't know what you are trying to prove by somehow not seeing how those links are issues I directly brought up a few posts back. I earlier said that the Bears haven't been throwing the deep ball as much. I also said that the Bears passing offense and their yards per attempt looks a little larger than it really is because of the yards after the carry that the receivers have been generating.
  16. I don't know if I want Dan Pompei on my side. Desperately trying to find a Brad Biggs article. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/football/bears/ct-spt-1126-bears-pompei-chicago--20101125,0,4506798.column http://www.suntimes.com/sports/football/bears/2938780,CST-SPT-bear1202.article
  17. He did get hammered in the head though. I don't know if anything can beat Keith Traylor's INT return against he Jags in the 2001 season. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=73dW4740ILE
  18. but you weren't paying attention obviously when i talked about balance, then. I'm not the only one. It seems that we are pretty much saying the same thing.
  19. Yes I read your post and it said nothing of yardage per game. Toning it down means relying less on Jay and relying more on the run. That is why Jay's yards per game are down a little. But as I originally said, Jay has pretty much been slinging it around all season. He has dipped a tad since the bye. He just hasn't made the dumb throws lately.
  20. That is called the Hendry technique.
  21. What happened?
  22. I really can't think of a 7-step drop or a bomb that Cutler has attempted outside of the deep one to Hester last week in a while. I don't think you really needed a big arm to make the throws Jay has been making. You just need an accurate one and Jay has certainly been much more accurate. The intermediate and short stuff has been the focus. It seems that the Bears have really had in increase in yards after the catch too. When I said that Jay has toned it down, that is obviously the result of changes made at the bye week. The Bears are trying to rush more to take the pressure off of Jay and the line. When I said he toned it down, he was toning it down because Martz is trying to be more balanced. Jay's yardage per game is definitely down from where it was the first few weeks of the season.
  23. "Rizzo believes Werth will continue improving as he enters his mid-30s, which would buck a trend deeply established in the entire of history of baseball." http://voices.washingtonpost.com/nationalsjournal/2010/12/nationals_sign_jayson_werth.html
  24. everything you say is idiotic. You don't know a damn thing about football. What do you disagree with in my post exactly? Everything in that post is a fact that you really can't argue with. I've said 500 million stupid things on this board. At least find a good one to complain with. I know that a fifth rated defense is a pretty dang good one. That would be at least one thing that I know that you don't. Don't bash me for my occasional Cutler hatred when you put on your meatball outfit and come here to complain after the Bears allow a big play every so often.
