  1. It was just bloodied :D . Well that would be the first nose that is bent sideways that isn't broken.
  2. He is better than OK right now. He is playing like a top 10 QB, the QB he should have been all along. I give Jay and the line some credit. But the line only gets credit for not being the worst in the league the last few games. When Jay got here he was expected to bring with him Pro Bowl talent. It's finally nice to see it on a consistent basis. So he's not the Weak Link anymore? Nope.

  4. what on earth do you mean here? defense and jay not turning the ball over? have you been watching the games? jay has been making plays, not "managing" games. that's why we're winning, we aren't exactly going anywhere without cutler making plays and continuing to make plays. if jay turns into trent dilfer, we are in trouble. For like the fiftieth time, you are a smart guy but get intentionally stupid when reading my posts. Jay has been throwing the ball around pretty much all season. I never said he was managing the game. But he was throwing the ball all around and turning it over. His yardage is slightly scaled back now, but he just isn't turning the ball over like he was early on.
  5. Arm motion is one thing, but throwing off your back foot is another. I don't think Jay has an enormous problem with it. He is just so used to doing it beacuse he is under pressure that he seems to be doing it when it isn't necessary. He just has a couple of things that he needs to work on to get to the net level.
  6. Well of course I don't want him to step up if he is going to get clobbered. Did you really think I meant that? I think jay throws off his back foot a lot more that when it is imperative.
  7. Yes Jay can make great throws off his back foot, but why do it? No QB has to do it and you will be a better QB for not doing it. No pitcher has to throw across his body. It doesn't help you make a pitch. I think it is the same with throwing off your back foot. It just takes too much off the ball. you seriously think that quarterbacks never benefit from being able to throw off their back foot? yeah, i want a guy who has to wind up and shawon dunston it to get a throw off. They can benefit from throwing off their back foot when they are under pressure and can't step up, but Jay has made a habit of doing it when he doesn't have to. Jay doesn't have to wind up like Shawn Dunston. Just take a step or two forward like normal QBs do. Why is that so much to ask?

  9. And it doesn't matter how great your escapability is when you throw of your back foot and make terrible decisions at times when you are not under pressure. Brady, Brees, and Manning will get sacked more than Jay does in this offense. But they will make up for it with better mechanics and better decision making skills. I don't read much of the Bears game threads, but you stand out quite a bit with your hatred of Cutler. I wonder if you're doing it because you actually think Cutler is bad or you enjoy arguing with the rest of the board week in and week out. I don't hate Cutler, but I do enjoy a good argument if I think I am right as most posters here do. I have the same opinion of Cutler as I do with Luol Deng. They have fantastic ability, but are too inconsistent. I am hard on Cutler because I think he can play more consistent and has the tools to be a perennial Pro Bowler and I want to see that. What I say is not too different from any major commentator. The Bears are a good to great team, but you need more consistent QB play. People don't trust the Bears totally yet, but they are beginning to beacuse Jay is playing like the QB he should have been all along. I have no complaints with Jay the last five games. They can beat anyone with this defense and Jay not turning the ball over. Granted the line has stabilized too (by which i mean they aren't getting Jay absolutely killed every game) which is obviously crucial.

  11. If by few you mean 10. :D mark sanchez being one? Maybe, maybe not. Yes Cutler has a lot of escapability and you need that with this line. But his decision making and mechanics are so far below the QBs like Manning, Brees, Rodgers, and Brady that his escapability in the end can't really make up for his negatives. That is why I don't believe that he and Vick and Rodgers are the only ones who could prosper in this offense. With that said if the line plays even close to average, Jay can excel and be a top 10, maybe even top 7 QB. He can win the Super Bowl this year with a decent line considering there aren't really any juggernaut teams.
  12. If by few you mean 10. :D
  13. What if there was no bogus possession rule for catching a TD? There was still time left on the clock even if Johnson would have had a TD. The Bears do have Devin Hester. The Bears have had some breaks and lost some. Their record is exactly constitutive of who they are and who they have played. Every team's is.
  14. Great block by one of the RBs
  15. I had no idea Martz had been giving the Bears offense plays for 3 years. Bennett didn't play his first year we came to find out because he didn't know the plays.
  16. It might take Bennett three years to learn the plays, but once he does watch out!
  17. Nice tackling there Moore.
  18. Jay with a 118 rating today. It's about time for him to get hot and stay hot. You aren't beating the Jets, Pack, and New England without great QB play.
  19. Suh didn't make contact with his head first, but his forearm definitely ended up there. It was stupid because he didn't have to do that to get to Jay. That would have been a turnover right? The Bears kick and punt coverage hasn't been good this year.
  20. That was such a stupid play by Suh. He didn't have to do that to Jay. That is a game changer.
  21. There is a break for the Bears.
  22. Suh is one of the dirtiest players in the league.
  23. My name is EARL BENNETT!
  24. What a timeout? No way.
