he called him the weak link after the third win in a row. Yeah I think I said it then too. The problem with your grading of quarterbacks is that they aren't all working under the same conditions. And based on how I have been reading your posts, you act like the best qb's never make a poor decision or never make mistakes. Peyton Manning has 7 interceptions over the last 2 games. You were also incorrect when you declared earlier in this thread that the Bears offensive line isn't the worst in the league anymore. That's not true. They are the worst and I don't believe anyone is a close 2nd to that unit. Cutler makes them look better than they did earlier in the year by making quicker decisions, snappier throws, running when necessary and maybe tucking a ball under his armpit and taking the loss instead of making an ill advised throw like he did last season and occasionally this season. You also have to look into the mindset of a qb. If you have an awesome offensive line that always gives you protection to set up any play you want, you develop a sense of security and confidence to make the plays happen. Jay's line has been so horrible, he has to have one eye looking behind him at all times. He doesn't have the ability to "trust" his line. He is working under a much larger handicap than many qb's experience. When you have been knocked out, shoved around, sacked as often as he has, hit on just about every pass play, it's hard to dust yourself off and get back in there knowing that you are probably going to get knocked on your ass again on the next play. That Cutler has this team at 9-3 with this offensive line is a credit to his ability as a qb to fight off the pressure, forgive the inadequacies of his weak offensive line and still put points on the board. Call me a homer, but I've watched a guy who looks like he could be killed at any given moment on that football field win ball games that it looked like we could have very easily lost. I can't really disagree with much of what you wrote except I think the line is not the worst anymore. You have to figure in rush and pass offense. And the Martz play calling.
