  1. Cam Newton won the Heisman. In his acceptance speech he said, "My parents have done a lot of things behind the scenes for me..." Yep.
  2. That is why rumors were floating around that Mack Brown could be fired so they could replace him with Muschamp since Brown is nearing the end sooner than later.
  3. I was probably thinking of the Bears-Ravens game last year. There was talk that it would get pushed to Monday, but I think it just got pushed back to the 4:15 game.
  4. But the Pats throw short passes so I don't know what the wind would really do to that part of their game.
  5. That would be another break for the Bears. Didn't another team get snowed out last year or the year before and had to play Monday?
  6. That would give Favre an extra day or two to get healthy. Figures.
  7. You don't doubt at all that Orlando, Miami, or Boston is better than the Bulls? I think the Bulls could beat any of those in a series, but it is certainly just a possibility.
  8. and how are they going to create cap room for that? philly wants an expiring contract or contracts, they think they have a shot at carmelo and they will not take back deng. Yeah probably not going to work. If they traded Korver and Brewer it might work, but Igoudala is due too much money during the next few years which would interfere with the money Rose will be getting.
  9. Brewer needs to be starting until the Bulls get a legit shooting guard. Igoudala is available.
  10. Kane might be getting back sooner than expected.
  11. Didn't Rivers go off like a firecracker in the first game of this season on the sidelines?
  12. Is Florida going to hire a new coach before the bowl game? The new coach would sit in the press box watching Meyer coach his team?
  13. I just read that too. Why steal that? Is there a black market for Samprass's tophies? Someone just stole Nadal's $525,000 watch he had been playing with too.
  14. Rose isn't going to let the Bulls lose. Where has Boozer been?
  15. Suh is the guy who is getting a bad reputation quickly. After the Delhomme play, I wouldn't doubt that the refs are watching him closely and will throw a flag before giving him the benefit of the doubt. It goes for James Harrison too, although Harrison is obviously a little dirtier.
  16. I all for them getting a team because they seem to be the best of the cities left (Vegas isn't getting one any time soon), but are they really a great sports town? I just thought they were kind of a meh sports town.
  17. Better hope he doesn't get sacked and hurt. He should be out of the game.
  18. Kind of nice for the Bulls to have another solid scorer to help them win games when Rose has an off night.
  19. Maybe, maybe not. :D
  20. Did someone just agree with me or was that a joke? Can I put this whole post in my sig?
  21. Odd timing for this statement. This game has done nothing but crush any hope I had for next week. We won't lose by 40, but it's hard imagining any scenario where we'd pull off a win. At this point I'm just hoping not to get embarrassed. 1. The Bears are at home. 2. The good offenses the Bears have played haven't lit them up points wise so far. 3. The offense is playing pretty well right now. 4. Short week for the Pats. The Bears have a good chance of winning this Sunday.
  22. I thought New England had a bad defense?
  23. he called him the weak link after the third win in a row. Yeah I think I said it then too. The problem with your grading of quarterbacks is that they aren't all working under the same conditions. And based on how I have been reading your posts, you act like the best qb's never make a poor decision or never make mistakes. Peyton Manning has 7 interceptions over the last 2 games. You were also incorrect when you declared earlier in this thread that the Bears offensive line isn't the worst in the league anymore. That's not true. They are the worst and I don't believe anyone is a close 2nd to that unit. Cutler makes them look better than they did earlier in the year by making quicker decisions, snappier throws, running when necessary and maybe tucking a ball under his armpit and taking the loss instead of making an ill advised throw like he did last season and occasionally this season. You also have to look into the mindset of a qb. If you have an awesome offensive line that always gives you protection to set up any play you want, you develop a sense of security and confidence to make the plays happen. Jay's line has been so horrible, he has to have one eye looking behind him at all times. He doesn't have the ability to "trust" his line. He is working under a much larger handicap than many qb's experience. When you have been knocked out, shoved around, sacked as often as he has, hit on just about every pass play, it's hard to dust yourself off and get back in there knowing that you are probably going to get knocked on your ass again on the next play. That Cutler has this team at 9-3 with this offensive line is a credit to his ability as a qb to fight off the pressure, forgive the inadequacies of his weak offensive line and still put points on the board. Call me a homer, but I've watched a guy who looks like he could be killed at any given moment on that football field win ball games that it looked like we could have very easily lost. I can't really disagree with much of what you wrote except I think the line is not the worst anymore. You have to figure in rush and pass offense. And the Martz play calling.
  24. The Jets needed a Lovie Smith pep talk for sure at halftime
