  1. Yeah, I'm considering benching Westbrook and Roy Williams for Hightower and Holt thanks to sportsline.
  2. Ryan Grant. I know I'm going with the obvious, but there's a reason it's obvious.
  3. And he's about to become more expensive.
  4. 10-12 when he doesn't start.
  5. When the Cubs have their regular lineup healthy (which hasn't been often in the past year), you can't tell me that Aram, DLee, Soriano, Bradley, and Soto (circa 2008) can't support a .290 singles hitter in the lineup. Were you in favor of keeping Shawn Estes around in '03?
  6. There's only one wild card winner. I could see the Cubs making a furious run at 5th place finishing 5 games out of the wild card though. So there's that.
  7. For me it's more like as long as the Cubs are good it's tolerable, but when they aren't it's annoying. And I see no reason to apologize for that. He's a douchebag, but if he's performing well I don't care too much. Yeah that. I'm just sick of this entire team and need somewhere to vent this frustration. It's one thing to play badly but to act a fool while playing badly, that's just so irritating. I think you're reaching to get mad at Zambrano for being upset at being taken out. It happens. He's committed(and will committ) far worse crimes, such that being angry about getting taken out(immediately following a game where he was pinch hit for with Aaron [expletive] Miles, only to have the pen lose the game) doesn't even register with me. Miles pinch hit for Gregg in the 9th inning. Zambrano batted for himself 4 times. I was talking about his last start(though was off on the details.(Fontenot pinch hit, and the Cubs were down 1-0))
  8. seriously? those are all terrible teams. Iowa's terribler. i mean Northern Iowa's win over Iowa State in 2007 is worth more than a win against freakin notre dame. I don't see how a win over a mid-level FCS team is worth more than a win against ND
  9. wake and rutgers are @Pitt and @ND the year before, plus a 3-point loss to Utah in the bowl game. East Carolina, @Stanford, @UConn in 2006, plus a 1-point loss to BC in the bowl game. Colorado State in the bowl game in 2005. Navy has at least 1 win in any given year, and usually more, bigger than anything Northern Iowa has ever won. This is, IMO, a ridiculous argument. seriously? those are all terrible teams. Iowa's terribler.
  10. I'm willing to bet Northern Iowa in their entire existence doesn't have a win as big as Navy beating Wake or Rutgers last year. Navy isn't some scrub team.
  11. Didn't click the link, but I'm guessing they're more than 3 tickets away from a sell out.

  13. what happened? Presumably the fact that he gave up 2 runs. For his first win since July 22nd? Against the Pirates? Funny guy, you are. Actually Z got pissed that Lou took him out. They got into a heated discussion in the dugout. So, judging by your sarcastic tone you are upset that he dared to give up 2 runs. This is who Zambrano is, none of you cared when the Cubs were winning. Now that they suck, he's a nutjob. Fire & Passion + Wins = Good Fire & Passion + Losses = Bad, (MILLION DOLLAR ARM, TEN CENT HEAD KEVIN COSTNER TOLDMESO)
  14. what happened? Presumably the fact that he gave up 2 runs.
  15. Do you go about each day saying things like "get ready to be in a terrible car crash" or "get ready to get fired" or "get ready to have the waitress screw up my order?" LMAO I KNEW I WAS GONNA GET T-BONED!! TYPICAL FORD FOCUS
  16. If I still was fired up about this, I'd be going off about sending Theriot when Lee does nothing but hit the ball 500 feet these days.
  17. It wasn't his sole concern, but I definitely think that ability was part of it. Ability ended up trumping his previous biases against Edmonds. If I'm the one being referenced here, then Banedon is correct. Edmonds was my most hated player in all of baseball, and I hated that the Cubs signed him. But he helped us quite a bit and hit some big HR's for us, and I warmed up to him. So Banedon wasn't correct. He was your most hated player in all of baseball because he was bad for the Padres??
  18. This has to be someone from NSBB You think this is the only place where people hate Aaron Miles?
  19. It worked for the Red Sox. That team is just a bunch of lame white dudes, David Ortiz (loveable, like a teddy bear) and Daisuke (non-threatening Asian). And their parade of awful SS has been notably non-white.
  20. Harden was the best pitcher in baseball after becoming a Cub. Dempster had a much better year than Lilly. Zambrano had a similar year but gained a lot of value by being a competent hitter. It woulda been pretty damn crazy to have Lilly pitch in front of any of them.
  21. Michigan sucks. You're both right.
  22. He mentioned him in the others to watch list, so I doubt it. Maybe one of his sources to compile the list is the guy that hates JayJax
  23. Maybe I have a bad memory, but I seem to recall Iowa regularly signs minor league free agents/journeymen to fill open spots. If required, that shouldn't be any problem this offseason either Thats a problem with this organization. Rather than call someone up, they pick up some 30something journeyman to fill the spot. Same goes in the majors. If theyd trust the farm system more, Aaron Miles, Joey Gathright, and the 2009 edition of Paul Bako never would have had to happen. Every single AAA team signs these guys to fill out the roster. Besides if the Cubs didn't sign these guys, who would you beg for them to call up next year?
