    The Cubs finished the season without Bradley 8-6, and were losing a rained out game by several runs when it was canceled. If they had played that well throughout the whole season, they would've finished exactly where they did, 2nd in the division and 5th in the wild card race. There were many reasons the Cubs didn't make the playoffs this year. Bradley's antics were just one factor. And let's be honest, we don't know how well the Cubs would have played without Bradley. The 8-6 record was mainly a factor of Lou playing some incredibly pathetic lineups at the end of the year along with the insistence of pitching Shark and resting Harden for the rest of the year. Every loss without Bradley can be explained away. The losses with Bradley are all on him. This [expletive] is driving me insane. The Cubs went 27-26 in games Bradley didn't start. I know how well the Cubs would've done if they suspended him on day 1. Worse.

    It's fun that people still think Bradley is a good baseball player. His body is shot. He's done. And he's crazy. Well this is new.

    yeah, a seven game series of 10:30 EDT start times would be awesome The world series starts at the same time no matter where the games are.

    I'm all for trading Theriot. I think he has the biggest disconnect between his actual value and his trade value out of any of our players.

    Greinke wouldn't have been able to handle Chicago.

    I don't care if he's shorter than Kiefer Sutherland, he was the best rebounder in the history of college basketball. That doesn't mean squat in the NBA. Actually, it does mean something. Rebounding is the skill that best translates from college ball to pro ball. Over what timeframe did the study take place that came to this conclusion? Being a great rebounder against today's competition is a lot different than being a great rebounder in the NCAA 20 years ago.

    How would strikeouts affect UZR? More strikeouts = less opportunity to make outs in the field. Outs/9 innings is the basis of UZR. Maybe? I'm not pretending to be an expert, just throwing it out there. That's not how UZR works. Otherwise, all it would serve as is a ranking of strikeout teams.

    It's like you have absolutely no concept of anyone's value. I assume you're talking about Bradley's value. Bradley without the baggage is a valuable trade chip. Bradley with the baggage has very little trade value. Unfortunately he can't get rid of the baggage. A few posters keep bringing up Bradley's value and how easy it will be to trade him (without eating a big chunk of his contract and/or taking a bad contract in return) and I am still waiting to see any evidence of that. So far the speculation has centered on the low-budget Padres and the Rays (for a bad contract DH). Why would the White Sox tender Jenks an offer if they have to dump him for Bradley? Why does EVERY SINGLE TRADE of yours end with "tweak with prospects and/or money?

    And 25th in UZR. No kidding? Ouch. I wonder what on earth could cause that large of a disconnect. That defensive metrics are for [expletive] might have something to do with it. wouldn't the high number strikeouts by Cubs pitchers account for much of that discrepancy? ie fewer balls in play doesn't affect efficiency, but does affect UZR. How would strikeouts affect UZR?

    I'd really enjoy having our 2 worst hitters hitting 1-2

    That's probably the only situation I'd consider kicking the FG. The only difference with that situation and any other situation is that the loss of momentum would go with you into halftime. I don't care about the momentum factor. One of the big advantages of going for it is if you fail to convert the other team takes over in awful territory, and you'll likely get the ball back in their territory anyway.

    And 25th in UZR. No kidding? Ouch. I wonder what on earth could cause that large of a disconnect. Wouldn't it be the lack of range that could cause this? Your defense can't be considered all that great if you are good at fielding the balls hit right at you, but horrible at covering anything beyond that. Defensive efficiency is the % of balls in play that you convert into outs. You think that many balls were hit right at our players?
