  1. Apparently, that makes you crazy to even suggest a thing. Bruno didn't suggest that Jones is as good as one of the best players in the Big Ten.
  2. That's not really the Hendry MO. He seems to prefer going year to year and then trying to sign any impending FA in the period between the end of the world series and the start of free agency. Nah his MO with arb guys is to sign them to an extension as they enter their last year of arb.
  3. Can we stop talking about McGwire, I'm getting violently ill.
  4. UNC loses, ho hum
  5. The refs let the ball come up court, let Iowa get into an offense, and then they played catch at the top of the key. That's the established standard, as long as you're advancing the ball, play continues. Iowa doesn't start advancing the ball until there's 10 seconds on the shot clock so as they stood at the top of the key in a 5 on 4, the play was called dead. They did exactly what they're supposed to.
  6. The door is wide open for E.J. or UMFan to say something here. Harris would've had to actually touch Kramer for it to be analogous.
  7. Oh and Kelsey Barlow was definitely making the choke signal towards some IU player.
  8. I don't think Kramer even touched the ball, just Talor Battle Jr. whiffing on a layup. I don't know why you bother guarding Rivers up 5 with 12 seconds left. His range is about 3 feet, give him the uncontested layup, who cares?
  9. Hulls either called that timeout without the ball in his hands or while laying out of bounds.
  10. Wasn't it already announced at the Cubs Convention?
  11. It looked like Watford was trying to foul there.
  12. I'd like our game vs Purdue to either be a good loss or a statement win, so if they could wake up that'd be great.
  13. There's not really much to argue in favor of Illinois here, but it ain't like that Rose Bowl team was carried by top 10 classes. The upperclassmen on that team were in the 50th and 51st ranked classes. Zook's never been higher than top 20(1 year, and has been pretty consistently in the 30s-40s
  14. Why were they just chanting Muniru(whatever)'s name? Has this guy ever done anything?
  15. I know somebody who wouldn't be. I know you're a Kansas homer and all that but, you know, Ray Allen is better at basketball than Kirk Hinrich. Celtics fan. Plus as a Kansas homer, which he isn't, wouldn't he be unhappy with Paul Pierce's team getting worse and hurting his chance at another title? The real question is how would this affect my beloved White Sox
  16. So even if it was Thomas, yeah we help our frontcourt depth, nevermind that we have no damn backcourt depth. Tony Allen still winds up as the first guard off the bench, and now you have Hinrich starting instead of a lethal shooter like Allen (who fits perfectly on the team as presently constructed). Does this team really need 3 viable backups in the frontcourt? Yeah if Garnett goes down the frontcourt has serious issues, but Tyrus Thomas ain't going to solve the issues. If Garnett can't play, none of this matters, we aren't winning a title. If he can play, you're probably going to want somebody on the team who can shoot the damn ball rather than being concerned with the 10 minutes per game Tyrus Thomas will take from Brian Scalabrine. And I HATE Brian Scalabrine.
  17. Yeah, I don't know why anyone wouldn't be enthusiastic for getting rid of Hinrich's contract, especially for Ray Allen. I know somebody who wouldn't be.
  18. I never said he won't be drafted, he'll probably be a 2nd rounder. I'm quoting the top 3 sources for NBA Draft coverage and none of them have him in the top 100 currently. I would gladly bet that he'll never be a lottery pick. Or a top 20 pick. We could do some kind of cheesy internet wager or $100 to the charity of the winner's choice. I'll take a top 20 vs. not-drafted bet, in the middle nobody wins.
  19. Jerk, now I have to sit here and watch you win. Going to OT vs a pretty bad CU team playing w/o one of its top players is very odd. I don't get this KU team. Watched your game at a bar with a ton of KU fans last night. I learned from them that Sherron Collins is overrated and is only good for about one three a game. They are very ready for him to be gone. I agreed with them, I mean I know I hate having an All American point guard. I'll fight every one of those people. And I'm guessing they're in the minority. Collins' is quite well-loved by most KU fans. I've been using the elevator thing too much lately right?
  20. So you're disagreeing with the top 3 sources for NBA draft coverage.
  21. Come on hawkeye, take the bet.
  22. Can we please bet on whether Demetri gets drafted? Please? i think the only question is which year. good passer, good shooter, fast/quick, high dribbler, strong, athletic, and big. that's pretty much the total package in terms of the nba. I think he comes back next year, cause he's got potential for 'BTPOY/Lottery pick in '11. Right now, I think he's fringe 1st round/early 2nd. Also, I can't handle to watch that much Jeff Jordan next year, so please DMac, for me.
  23. Can we please bet on whether Demetri gets drafted? Please?
  24. He's also a huge vagina. Lay down on the floor to get a whistle and immediately when they blow it he gets up and walks around perfectly fine and stays in the game. If you have to draw an injury whistle you should have to come out of the game. Whatever, credit to Illini fans for showing up and taking away any homecourt advantage. Now I know what it feels like to be a Minnesota or Northwestern football fan. But damn that was the most annoying game I've ever attended. At least I can take solace in the fact that Illinois is a basketball school that will have gone 5 years without winning a tournament game. And you have a football coach who can't do anything but recruit and he's not even good at that anymore. iowa hasn't had a player like mccamey in 20 years. irrelevant programs don't have players like him. He's good but he's also a vagina. Woolridge was better. Dean Oliver was close. Tyler Smith was more talented. The problem you're missing is that Illinois is a basketball school. A basketball school with a basketball team that's been irrelevant for almost 5 years now. You're looking at 5-6 years without winning an NCAA game. And your football program is being led by a guy who is a punchline nationally and can't even recruit anymore. This has been a rough couple of weeks huh? Love that you're claiming Tyler Smith as your own now that he's abandoned Iowa basketball and gone to bigger and better things at a Tennessee courthouse. Dean Oliver??? If DMac has the professional career of Dean Oliver, that means he died on the court at some point next season. Although, I enjoyed this from his wikipedia: Illinois is now on a 5 game winning streak against Iowa in football/basketball games. (Yeah our national joke beat Iowa's powerhouse program last time they played in football) At least you've got John Lickliter to lead you for the next 2 years, Payne for 3!!!
  25. 7th in assist %, 10th in 2pt %, 14th in 3pt% 50th in 3ptA/FGA. Another Derwood fail.
