At home, no less. To a bad team. Virginia actually isn't bad this year. They're only 1/2 game out of the ACC lead and 13-6 overall. They've lost to Penn St., USF, Auburn, and Stanford. Bad was probably overstating, but they ain't good.
Ugh, I know I should be happy that Florida lost since they could be bubble competition for us, but there's virtually nothing that can make me happy about that living walking scum getting a win.
I would have taken Carpenter's revival over Kerry's, since Kerry had to change roles to make it work. Sorry Kerry. I'd take Ted Lilly's improvement over Mark Mulder's combustibly exploding. I'd take Randy Well's level head over Rick Ankiel's losing his damn mind. I'd take Ryan Dempster's living over Daryl Kile's dying.
It would be nice for the Cubs to get a guy to come off serious injury and blossom, and not the Cards. Like Kerry Wood '08? Not really, no. Kerry Wood was ready to retire in '07 because I couldn't throw without pain, then magically it went away and he became an all star closer in '08. This Cub pixie dust isn't fair.
+1 +2 I hope he tears it up and everyone else on the Brewers fails miserably. really? so the three of you agree, one of your favorite cubs of all time is a guy who played 85 games in a cub uniform? Actually 5 of us agree.
