  1. I bet DMac is getting really tired of dishing off down low so that guys can get blocked or lose the ball.
  2. Castro shouldn't be on the team unless he's starting. Bascially he shouldn't be on the team.
  3. This season feels more and more like '07-'08 with every passing day, and I can't for the life of me figure out why.
  4. This is the first game I thought of upon seeing that box. Seattle may have had only 4 players on the court, but at least Brett Melton wasn't their center at the end of the game.
  5. If there's one thing MLB loves doing, it's celebrating the history of the Montreal Expos. He had a better career with the Expos. The only thing that pushed him towards a Cubs hat was an absurd MVP.
  6. He also wanting a 4-5 year deal last offseason, coming off of wrist surgery. Now he was pretty much completely healthy this last year so he could still be asking for a 3-4 year deal as well. He's also a Type A free agent FWIW, even though we're pick #16, it is a protected pick. So we'd only lose the 2nd rounder. I thought just the top 15 picks were protected? The bottom 15 teams have protected picks. Some team has 2 picks due to not signing their 2009 draft pick.
  7. There were also a hell of a lot of years before 2007 showing Bay to be superior.
  8. Yeah, I have an irrational hatred of Rogers due to his time at ND, but you can't blame him for Tavaris Jackson being terrible. Tavaris Jackson was never going to be a good pro.
  9. It would be nice for the Cubs to get a guy to come off serious injury and blossom, and not the Cards. Like Kerry Wood '08?
  10. It's pocket change to a high powered lawyer and his girl.
  11. Did I talk more about Rich Hill than I remember doing? I hope Hill is just good enough to be mediocre in St. Louis and get crushed every time the Cubs face him. We'll see. He may have you mixed up with abuck. I figured the combination of an also-ran former Cubs pitcher and the much vaunted "pixie dust" of the Cardinals/Duncan that seems to give Andy fits might have been too much for him. I'm still busy worrying about how Juan Pierre will affect us in the World Series. I'll get around to worrying about Rich Hill later. This was pretty good.
  12. More like 2-0. More like 1-0. 2-0 is the lowest possible score. It also means a defensive play is the only score which I assume the whole 3-0 thing was a joke due to the best two offenses are in the Superbowl. Wait, I'm not following
  13. These Padres moves combined with this make me wonder if an unwritten salary floor has been put into place.
  14. Isn't Kubel supposed to be a horrible defender?
  15. Heard this on the radio. In his career Aldrich has fouled out one time. For a guy who is always trying to block shots that's a very low number. Collins has never fouled out of a game. For two very good defenders that is pretty much impossible to have happen. FWLIW They are good defenders. That's a big part of why they don't foul out. They position themselves well and understand the game. Also, they're usually on deep enough teams where, if they are racking up the fouls, they can sit for an extended amount of time. Most teams can't sit a star player. Kansas usually has the talent to have someone step in. Missouri bumps, hand checks, slaps, reaches in, and hacks ALL THE TIME. I'd say most pressing teams do. Refs, for whatever reason, just don't call every foul on them. There were a couple of plays in the first half where X got obliterated with no foul called. Against ISU, I thought KU did get away with some fouls. And I'm sure, overall, KU gets more calls then most teams, especially in AFH. But we plain rolled Mizzou last night, and it had nothing to do with calls. ETA: We had two more team fouls last night. At home. Against a team that bricked jumpers all night long. Agreed, Earl Hebner head WWE referee wouldn't have been able to keep Mizzou in that game. RING THE FUCKIN BELL
  16. That strategy works just fine for Purdue's student section. And Purdue's point guard come to think of it.
  17. Fisk would tell that nerd to get out of his mother's basement with his stupid blog.
  18. Dear Mr. Contreras, are you willing to pay us under the table to help recoup some of the league minimum we're paying you?
  19. I like the signing in a vaccuum, but the A's seem really seem to be operating without a rudder the past couple seasons.
  20. That's doubtful. Kosuke would run circles around him with the glove, and at best he might be a modest upgrade with the bat. You don't play RF in the majors cause of your D. . What is that supposed to mean? You act like Nady is a stud hitter. Defense is the big difference between them. Their offensive output is similar.
  21. I wonder if the OC spot ends up in Tice's hands. Mike Sherman for Special Teams!
  22. Well that would just be awful. I'm not sure I agree though, primarily because I think this version of Jermaine Dye is a worse hitter than Kosuke is, and I think Lou's intelligent enough to see what an oaf he is in the field.
  23. That's what's so frustrating. If this team played balls to the wall all year, we'd have 1 loss.
