That's gotta be a typo. They won the fake Pac-10 tournament. They're the only Pac-10 team in the field. Missed that one. I'll allow it.

I'm not sure what you mean by enrollment, but Notre Dame is comparable to only Northwestern when looking at enrollment in the Big Ten

Yeah, I can't imagine it being significantly harder to get from Penn State to Texas than it is to get to Wisconsin, Minnesota or Iowa. And what is it, one trip per season? Texas's addition will more than make up the financial difference brought on by taking 12 flights to Austin throughout the year.

Yeah, only the surface. Texas is a way better fit. Texas would want to go to the Big 10 because they want to be a national institution with a high academic standard, and because they like making money.

They could quickly turn around and add those respected non-BCS schools and turn it into a 14-16 team mega conference that would maintain it's status with numbers. Take away the best of the WAC and Mountain West, then let the remaining teams from those conferences merge. I guess, but it sounds like they could lose a couple of schools to the Pac Ten as well. Possibly, but then you could just take the Pac 10, Big 12, WAC and Mountain West, and break it down into 3 conferences. There's 39 teams there if Texas leaves. Most of the WAC is terrible at everything.

Oh man, Rhode Island isn't good. The A-10 is getting overrated because they scheduled brilliantly and their RPI reflects it.

Yeah it's all stemming from the one report out of Lawrence. The Big 12(in its current structure) might collapse if this goes through. Colorado has already been rumored to the Pac 10. I don't know where those other teams would settle, but this move could have some serious potential for BYU, TCU, and Utah.

As soon as I saw the blurb about this, I came here to re-read this thread. EDIT: the good stuff starts on page 10 for those interested. Before that it's just "CubbieBum loves Purdue". You know, in some ways we're very different people. The Bum's deulsional Purdue and Title IX ravings are the best source of comedy since rchap started a fantasy thread.

They're getting really creative at getting more money without the price being attributed directly to the tickets. They also have a pre-sale for people who are premium members of the Cubs Club(or something like that) $250 membership to get like 16 tickets pre-sale. -
Any chance I mentioned Texas/Florida previously? That's long been my (conspiracy theory?) outlandish speculation. Doubt I'm on record here, though, obviating my claim to prescience. I said Texas or ND only, you agreed and stated a case for Florida as well.

I take it Meyers didn't make it? Doesn't sound like it. They have to fit more white guys from Duke on the team. Well, I thought for sure the 3rd ranked center would make the game. Oh well, I am sure there is another Greg Zoubek that Duke signed that has to get in this game in his place. Duke has no white guys committed next year. I would also think that there is no way any of our commits other than Irving would be a McDonald's All-American. Yeah, well I wouldn't think there was any way Ryan [expletive] Kelly would be one either.

If I have to take a bath on my gambling habit tonight, then UNC fans better at leas have the decency to rush the court so I can see what that bald prick has to say.

We really don't have much of a choice right now but to run DMac out there for 35 minutes/game. (He's averaging ~37 in Big Ten play) The offense just doesn't move without him out there. Unless a player is looking to shoot, they just stand there waiting for DMac to take the ball back from him. I'm comfortable that by next year, one of DJ or Bertrand will have the confidence to run the show (or Paul will have the patience to run it), but for now we're lifeless without him. We basically have to keep doing stuff like last night, getting him out of there with ~8:20 left, and get him an extended breath while only being out of the game for 45 seconds.

There are some lines that look crazy out there today(so they're probably exactly right). Northwestern is only a 3 point favorite at Iowa City. Duke is only a 5.5 point favorite at UNC.

The 2nd half defense was incredible last night. Great help defense every time there was penetration. Getting up and challenging the shooter at the perimeter, just a great vintage Illinois defensive effort. Wisconsin scored 3 points from the 9:57 mark til a late game 3 pointer with 17 seconds. This still amazes me.
