A team beating another team 3 games in a row has happened a lot of times in the NBA playoffs. To be clear, those were my odds, not Vegas, I imagine those are closer to 12-15 Its just never happened in the finals What makes the finals unique? no idea. Maybe the switch to the 2-3-2 format? All I know is that teams that go up 3-1 in the finals are 30-0 all time That's not really statistically significant when you'd expect them to be 28-2 all time.
