  1. This is something you say about a 24/25 year old. Simply "not being 20 years old anymore" is meaningless. He's only 22. And he was aggressively pushed along the way every year before 2011. They've got plenty of time to see what he has and no reason whatsoever to even consider calling him up now. I was talking about him being rushed up to the majors as a guy who's only had a season or two in the minors. Rizzo was drafted in the same draft and is 3 weeks older than Vitters.
  2. He's not 20 years old, but he is 22.
  3. I think it's going to be Gary Harris.
  4. what happened? I used some unkind words towards the 2 days off following the all star break.
  5. You can't amnesty Omer, only contracts already signed prior to the CBA
  6. Because the Diamondbacks wanted a third baseman But they just traded Youk in order to give Middlebrooks the full time job And Middlebrooks will cost 33M less over the next 3 seasons. And he plays a more in-demand position. And he doesn't have injury concerns.
  7. It also has landed a few of them as well. Bobby Simmons, Quentin Richardson, and Mark Aguirre come to mind. 3 players since 1978 is a godawful track record. They might have landed Garnett or Curry if the current rules were in place. And if someone Rosed KG's ACT for him. As a DePaul alum, I can assure you that the academic standards for admittance are pretty low As a KG fan, I can assure you that Garnett was quite book-stupid.

  9. yes but we need to think of something to top schilling painting his sock red A goat somehow gets on the infield. A batted ball hits the goat, turning a sure double play in the 9th inning into a 2-run infield single to win game 5 of the WS and put the Cubs up 3-2 in the series. I'VE GOT A BOOK TO WRITE. Matt Christopher already beat you to that one.
  10. Ryan Sweeney is going to be the new Rick Porcello isn't he?
  11. Most exciting thing to happen to DePaul basketball since they let them compete in the Big East Tournament.
  12. Kaplan told me he was struggling. HE TALKS TO SCOUTS DAMMIT
  13. Why on earth would the Red Sox start with Middlebrooks
  14. What the hell are the Bulls going to trade for Kevin Love?
  15. Just a game over .500 to best last year's record
  16. Stuff came out about him being unhappy prior to signing the contract, because they wouldn't give him max.
  17. It'd be a bigger story than the Red Sox
  18. Didn't Love just re-sign for like 4 or 5 years?
  19. Yeah, that's a terrible idea.
  20. Just have to play at about a .800 winning % the rest of the way to get that 2nd wild card spot! I'm counting on 9 NL teams having monumental collapses. We'd win the division at an 80% clip. 70% clip would put us at 87 wins, pretty much right there.
  21. You don't know that teams are willing to pay a premium. davell, I don't like to make guarantees, but I guarantee we will not be trading 8 guys off our major league roster in the next 3 weeks.
  22. And Mauer is playing 1B, so he could easily slide to catcher if Washington was a huge weirdo and was afraid of the 10th inning.
  23. I'd like that, but I'd prefer a GIDP here forcing Dunn to pinch hit for Billy Butler.
