    This is something you say about a 24/25 year old. Simply "not being 20 years old anymore" is meaningless. He's only 22. And he was aggressively pushed along the way every year before 2011. They've got plenty of time to see what he has and no reason whatsoever to even consider calling him up now. I was talking about him being rushed up to the majors as a guy who's only had a season or two in the minors. Rizzo was drafted in the same draft and is 3 weeks older than Vitters.

    Because the Diamondbacks wanted a third baseman But they just traded Youk in order to give Middlebrooks the full time job And Middlebrooks will cost 33M less over the next 3 seasons. And he plays a more in-demand position. And he doesn't have injury concerns.

They might have landed Garnett or Curry if the current rules were in place. And if someone Rosed KG's ACT for him. As a DePaul alum, I can assure you that the academic standards for admittance are pretty low As a KG fan, I can assure you that Garnett was quite book-stupid.

    Just have to play at about a .800 winning % the rest of the way to get that 2nd wild card spot! I'm counting on 9 NL teams having monumental collapses. We'd win the division at an 80% clip. 70% clip would put us at 87 wins, pretty much right there.

    You don't know that teams are willing to pay a premium. davell, I don't like to make guarantees, but I guarantee we will not be trading 8 guys off our major league roster in the next 3 weeks.

    And Mauer is playing 1B, so he could easily slide to catcher if Washington was a huge weirdo and was afraid of the 10th inning.
