  1. Hinders the team when you won't spend anymore.
  2. Demote him to Daytona for Mike RainOlt
  3. I'm in the first year of trading draft picks, and yeah, I have no idea how to gauge value. Is a 15th rounder too much for Kevin Gregg when the other guy is selling everyone off?
  4. Gather round and let uncle abuck tell you some stories.
  5. Is there something else besides sweater vests you'd defer to Bowden on?
  6. The Astros current 25 man roster checks in at ~14M in payroll http://www.baseball-reference.com/teams/HOU/2013-payroll-salaries.shtml http://www.baseball-reference.com/teams/HOU/2013-roster.shtml I recognize 16 names on that 40 man roster, and one of them was just given away to Tampa.
  7. Good for him but I hope he concentrates on baseball, and uses protection. So you're saying he should wear a raincoat????
  8. We wouldn't be having this problem if we just moved Soriano to 1B.
  9. Does anybody know what pitch Wacha was working on yesterday?
  10. Seems odd to force him out when he already had an open scholarship.
  11. Now that you mention it, hitting like current day Ted Williams wouldn't be difficult at all would it?
  12. You try taking the extra base when your head is [expletive] frozen And not attached to your body.
  13. It is a myth. I don't see why the Sun-Times publishing it would change your mind on that. ETA: They likely would've lost a World Series home game if they beat the Pads.
  14. Scouts tend to do that. Scouts are stupid No one that gets paid to watch baseball for a living is stupid. Tim McCarver Joe Buck John Kruk Harold Reynolds Paul Sullivan Bruce Levine Hawk Harrelson Steve Stone Wrigley ushers and on and on
  15. Ramirez missed 50 games with his dislocated shoulder in '09. Ryan Ludwick has already missed over 100 games this year with one. Inge missed something crazy like 3 weeks last year, came back and immediately dislocated it again. If they don't have anything conclusive on Navarro by tomorrow, I imagine Neal heads to the 60 day.
  16. His knee bent in way too much. Shattered kneecap
  17. Neal, or who? Yeah, obviously speculating on the severity, but he was just picked up as one of the usual shots in the dark, and now had all of 2 games to show he deserves a spot on the 40 man in the offseason. I mean, odds were against him sticking in the offseason anyway, but it sucks for him to have not had a chance to prove it
  18. That really sucks for him DL for rest of year, and probably DFAd in offseason
  19. You guys are going to feel silly when you realize Old Style went to Texas Southern, not A&M (whatever that is)
  20. So that's where CC went
  21. If they ever get around to winning, they might get more slack. Yeah, because with a capped 110 mill type payroll and what they inherited, its easy as hell to turn that into a winner quick. Right it'll be another failure by Tom Ricketts What an oddly late response. Do you or do you not think Theo has had the ability to spend freely under Ricketts to this point? I do not consider a capped 110 mil payroll the ability to spend freely
  22. That "#1 prospect" wasn't even top 100 in BA (Hanley was though at #19) and Fossum had graduated in 2002 ETA: In fact, none of the 4 ever appeared on a top 100 in BA.
  23. If they ever get around to winning, they might get more slack. Yeah, because with a capped 110 mill type payroll and what they inherited, its easy as hell to turn that into a winner quick. Right it'll be another failure by Tom Ricketts
