    Nah, K-Rod replaced some guy who didn't play all year for the '02 Angels and Kevin Hart less famously came up with us in September and made the postseason roster in '07.

    It appears that was probably the main reason. Screwing Russell over is a nice side effect, though. I'm sure Edith Cox is out somewhere bemoaning that that's thousands of dollars that could've gone to his children and saying the Cubs are in the wrong for this. Nico was in the organization on 8-31 and can replace any of our 60 day DL pitchers assuming they haven't added a position requirement.

    i honestly can't believe he's still employed. i remember thinking that 12 years ago when he was talking about rodrigo ramirez and adolfo soriano in the cubs/dbacks playoff series. He called Aramis “Lee” three times in a row in the horsefeathering playoffs against Arizona. Carlos Lee? Who we acquired from the Rangers?
