    Dusty said we'd win one too. Saying "we're going to win a world series is pointless. He'd just have people like you calling him out and say oh yeah MCDUMMY, how you gonna win it with donut eating bacon grease boy as GM eating krispy kremes all day while eating garbage that even tubby glendon rusch threw out even though he's so fat.

    Of course, right now they are suspended from playing even at Stanford. :shock: You see, that's something I should have already known. That's pretty darn bad right there. Then again, that's not the only team to rub ND the wrong way in recent years. Heck, the entire BC series has been called off (at least for now) because of the Eagles trashing ND's visitor locker rooms the last couple of visits. BC series is back on as of next year through at least 2010.

    Lots of things are debated. Whether Dusty's a good manager, whether Adam Dunn is a good baseball player, whether OBP is important at the top of a lineup. The face that something is debated should tell you nothing about anything.

    I'm up by about 3-4 games on my total score for my pick em pool. So this week, I've decided I want to blow that lead by taking Bama, GA Tech, and Colorado. I'm probably gonna look really dumb.

    I'd call his 2003 great, without question. Not down in history great, but great nonetheless. As great as Zambrano last year. zambrano wasnt great last year either imo. we must have a different opinion on what "great" means. i look at some of the years pedro, maddux, clemens, johnson & sanatana have had and woods 2003 just looks like a very average year that a good pitcher would have. not a great year by any stretch imo. So by your definition, there's about 1 great pitcher per year.

    The splits would be skewed cause right handers hit better against lefties, which would be the only time TheRiot would be hitting right handed as a switch hitter.

    Normar didn't have a position to play. Different situations... Why is shifting Nomar to a corner OF position or 2B any different than shifting Wood to the bullpen?

    This sounds a lot like what Nomar was saying last year. And then Hendry focused on bringing Neifi back.

    If I'm rememberring correctly, there is no 60 day DL in the offseason. Therefore a guy who's going to be out with an injury is going to take up a 40 man roster postiion. So why(as harsh as it sounds) wouldn't the Cubs simply DFA/release Glendon to clear out spot for Rule 5. And why the hell didn't the O's do this? It was obvious Belle was just waiting for the money. Is it part of the insurance situation, whereas if he's released insurance can claim he could still capably play baseball?

    After playing the way he did for the 3 seasons prior, the rumors of mental blocks and such came out following last year's season for Milwaukee. He's earned his big money, an extra 500K from the Cubs isn't going to draw him away from Miller.

    I don't think Cirillo is ever going to leave Milwaukee. It's where he's most comfortable.

    Not to hijack this to Sammy, but if anyone thinks Sosa wasn't carrying the team to the playoffs in '98 they weren't watching.

    Ouch! http://www.dailyherald.com/sports/rozner.asp?id=231905 The Cubs haven't been in a playoff race since '04. In September '04 while the rest of the team was collapsing Ramirez hit .326/.423/.589 I'n '03, Ramirez was having a very middling season unstil August and September came around with him on a playoff chasing team going down the stretch where he put up lines of .272/.342/.544 and .270/.324/.510(both out performing his season line) There's also the 250 /365/ .591 he put up in the playoffs. But clearly Rozner hasn't put any thought into his article so more simply said.
