  1. I'd bet they're more likely to take Rusch than Jones. Doubt Philly wants to touch two more years of Jones. Some other teams might tho.
  2. You think Burrell would accept moving to RF??? Isn't RF considered more prestigious or difficult than LF? I would think that would be like a promotion. True, but he's played LF for quite some time and is probably quite comfortable in LF. Sounds like he has the arm for RF tho. Just depends on his ego & attitude, I guess.
  3. You think Burrell would accept moving to RF???
  4. Philly has come out the gates 9-14 and are either 6 or 7 back of NY already. Can see Abreu being available. Am guessing Philly will want pitching. What would you guys give up?
  5. i thought you were always a rusch supporter? i call it like i see it, and i have a feeling rusch will be garbage this year. in hindsight this was a poor signing by jim, but he made some good ones in howry and eyre.
  6. Rusch = Estes 03 :(
  7. It's way too early to gleefully write off Jones. His ops is right there with the immortal Brian Giles, and Milton Bradley btw...
  8. Play Choi every day and he won't sniff .249. Tracy sat him a lot in LA.
  9. low expectations jones makes $5 million per year and patterson was touted as a great prospect. all the stuff about dusty, "he saved us," and strikeouts is rubbish.
  10. i don't get all the fuss over bringing someone up when the pen's worn out. the cubs needed this game.
  11. i realize that 6 walks and 4 hits is very sexy to some, but i'll take 6 hits and 4 walks any day of the week.
  12. well if the plan's to keep walker @ 2b, go with... pierre cedeno walker aram barrett mabry murton pitcher jones. aram needs to getting go soon btw.
  13. Both teams got on base the same number of times. "Timely hitting" won the game. Now if you want to argue that walks rattle a pitcher, go right ahead.
  14. Hairston @ 2nd makes it a better lineup, but am betting Neifi gets the nod due to his D.

    Cedeno

I like Cedeno, but I'd deal him off for Tejada in a second. However, such a deal is several months away, if at all.
  16. I think that Walker can be pretty effective in the 3 hole. I never liked him batting 5th where his obp is wasted by weaker hitting 6-7-8 men... Hopefully, Dusty goes with Pierre, Cedeno, Walker, ARam, Barrett, Jones, Murton & Neifi. Unfortunately, I think Neifi will be batting 2nd. here we go again.... :(
  17. Exactly.
  18. Still amazing that Grissom & Neifi aren't starting in LF and at SS. ;)
  19. The Cubs may have one of the best 7 & 8 combos in the game...
  20. the pitcher was scared of pierre in the dugout so he let todd walker hit a home run? clever
  21. It's too early, but Pierre helped contribute to the first three runs of today's game by rattling the pitcher.
  22. It wouldn't be surprising if Abreu became available, but I think Hendry will make another run at Tejada. Baltimore needs lots of help. Might as well trade Cedeno & Pie before they go the way of Choi, Patterson, Hill & DuBois.
  23. And for the predictions that Grissom would make the team no matter what. I beleive one of us even agreed to change his/her user name... :) And the predictions that Grissom would start over Murton. Talk about pushing the panic button.....
  24. So what's the chances of Choi starting in the minors this year??
