    Not only would he be nice to have in the lineup, but the best part of it (living 3 hours from both cities) would be listening to all the cardinals fans cry. They sure are an obnoxious people, around here at least. (I know we have a couple of cardinal fans on this board and they aren't so bad, but in general)

    I'll miss you Ronnie. Nothing was better than to hear him call a close game and get so excited that he couldn't put sentences together. I hope I can love the Cubs as much as he did.

    There is money for Lee, Ricketts just wont spend it because he is too busy giving money to Sharron Angle. BeertownCubbie said it best, We are a large market team and we shouldn't worry about what are payroll is (I hope that was what you are getting at). We should not only be spending on the draft and minors but we should go after a guy like Cliff Lee even if it pushes us into the 150 million payroll mark. I understand Ricketts is a business man and he is trying to make money, but if he isn't going to get us to the promised land soon and make us competitive every year then they should have let Mark Cuban buy us.

    Jeff Kent would agree with that statement. Jeff Kent's teammates would say the same about him. Yeah they were both awful.

    I am a big Chiefs fan and I'm trying not to be a homer, but did anybody see that BS pass interference call on Flowers during the Texans winning drive. Should have been Offensive PI, but instead it was a 30 yard gain.

    I don't care what anybody says, I would love Grace, he was my favorite player growing up and I want to see him in the booth.

    I ran over to the scene to make sure the victim was still breathing or Glenn Beck. A girl I know posted a status on Facebook about how she would have loved to attend Glenn Beck Rally, so I posted the audio of him bad mouthing the 9/11 victims families. Hopefully it changed her mind.

    It's not better than Houston, San Antonio, or Dallas. Not even close. I would take Indy over St. Louis as well. They don't have an MLB team but their Minor League stadium is great. Same with Lucas and Canseco. Other than Mardis Gras I have had much more fun in Indy.

    Plus, when Hendry was last in direct control of the farm system we had the #1 farm system in baseball. I haven't been following the farm team that long. But were there any players from Hendry's farm that had some pretty good years in the majors.

    It's the same with Santo and Cubs fans. Both are biased to a flaw, and have next to no broadcasting skill. If you're a fan of their team, you probably love them. If you're anyone else, you almost certainly can't stand them. The difference is that Hawk is the PBP guy and gets to torture a national TV audience with his unprofessional shtick for some unfathomable reason. But at least Santo has Pat with him who is great. Also, Hawk is so boring to listen to, at least Ron is Entertaining.

    Wasn't Papelbon brought up as a starter? Would that be an option, IIRC he wanted to start but they wanted him to close.

    Give em both up and pay their entire salary! I know I'm being ridiculous, I just love me some Greinke. I would give up a lot to get him though maybe not Cashner and definately not Castro, but I would be willing to gamble with the fact that Vitters may not turn out to be that great and even if he does I think Greinke would be just as valuable to the team. I know it would take more than that to get him but that would probably be where the conversation started. Besides, we are probably going to get a good pick this year to restock what we lose from Vitters. Its just hypothetical and probably best that I don't work for the Cubs, cause I really don't know what he would be worth, but I would really love to see him in a cub uniform.

    I've batted against former major leaguers and high draft picts in non-professional leagues and it's neither terrifying nor awesome. When you are in the box it's see ball hit ball. Who is dealing is means nothing. That's not to say I was remotely successful either, b/c mostly I wasn't, but when i've been in the box it doesn't matter. Did any of them share a similar pedigree to Mark Prior I had a couple of AB's off Prior the summer after his senior year of high school. He was getting some innings in prior to starting his Freshman year with Vanderbilt. We were playing in an 18+ league in Nashville. I think he only threw 4 innings. If I remember correctly, I was going into my Junior year of college. That same day Joe Blanton was pitching for our team and I was catching. Looking back, I got to see the business end of a couple of pretty good pitchers. I Bought a car off of Brian Dorsett, looking back I got to see the business end of a really shitty catcher.

    0/4 2 k's and did not hit a ball out of the outfield. Glad he sucked it up the first game so my facebook status doesn't come back to haunt me.

    I can't stop checking facebook to see what some of these people have to say. We could probably have a thread of them and it would be my most viewed thread on this board.
