  1. oh nice ms paint job!
  2. your best photoshop yet
  3. OSU by 2 touchdowns.
  4. good point. would it be wrong to assume Pierre can get better? He's 28 years old. I don't think anyone is saying Pierre won't put up better numbers than last season. I'm positive he will. But I think we overpayed for an upgrade that is barely significant.
  5. If we batted Neifi leadoff and put him in center, it would have been an improvement over Corey. Just because Pierre is better than Corey doesn't mean this is a good trade.
  6. I would too. Just saying that there's more to Player I than just his line.
  7. Player I also has injury concerns and a hefty contract. Drew? Is he 30 already? Yep.
  8. Player I also has injury concerns and a hefty contract.
  9. Hal McCoy's story on Kearns possibly coming to Chicago is the top story in today's sports section of the Dayton Daily News. http://www.daytondailynews.com/sports/content/sports/reds/daily/1206reds.html Registration required, but here's the gist of the article: -Cubs tried to trade for Kearns last July, but O'Brien refused to trade any of his outfielders -Ricky Nolasco, Sergio Mitre, Jerome Williams, and Todd Wellemeyer mentioned as possibilities to be included in the deal. -Reds will likely ask for Rich Hill, but it ain't happening. A Cubs official says "They'd probably have to hold our feet to the fire to get Hill." -Dusty sez "Why didn't they want to trade an outfielder in July? We made them a good offer." details plz -Mentions that both Hendry and Baker are in love with Kearns, and mentions that Kearns has lit up Wrigley. In non-Cubs related news from the article, it mentions that Pittsburgh is very interested in Sean Casey. Also mentions that Red Sox offered Kevin Youkalis and Bronson Arroyo for Casey.
  10. You guys can't be serious. Honestly. The Lynch/MacPhail/Baylor crew got us 89 wins in 2001 with a lot less talent than the 2003/2004/2005 squads.
  11. I doubt that's good enough to overcome the Brewers and Cards. Maybe good enough to get over the Astros if they don't get Clemens.
  12. A lot of people say that even the best GMs make bad signings and moves. Well, the flip side to that is, even bad GMs make signings or trades that work out for them. Overall, Hendry has done little to impress me, and the results speak for themselves. What pushed me over the edge is his absolute refusal to see Walker's worth. It's idiotic that he's getting rid of one of the best hitting 2nd baseman in the game and one of the bright spots in our lineup because last year's champions won only because of their speed and defense. I don't think he's a very bright GM. Sorry. And just because you think differently, it doesn't make you some sort of renegade, or someone who sees the light while everyone has no legit reason for disliking him. And frankly, that line of thinking is way more tiresome than Hendry bashing.
  13. I can't wait for Cruz's inexplicable 300/350/430 season
  14. I hate Jim Hendry.
  15. Three things: Using just last year to define a hitter is not wise. While he did have the best numbers in the NL, he did so without enough PA to qualify, which takes away some value (ie. he's not a franchise catcher). There are multiple AL catchers who are better. Barrett posted very similar numbers last season too. 826 OPS vs. 824 OPS. I think it's safe to say he's the best hitting catcher in the National League. And he's better than Paul Lo Duca, which is really the only point I tried to make.
  16. It's going to be the Dodgers who are crippled when Furcal goes right back to his career norms from 2006-07. Furcal's 2005: 284/348/429 Furcal's career: 284/348/409 His 2005 was his career norm.
  17. at least he has a solid isoD there.
  18. yay gammons thinks the cubs are cripppled
  19. Hahahaha, that's awesome. Remember Dennis Rodman and nWo?
  20. He still does. Do you expect any less than a 320/430/550 line from him next season?
  21. you know what pisses me off? i was born in oklahoma, THIS IS CARDINAL COUNTRY FOR CHRISTS SAKE, WHY WAS I BORN INTO A CUB FAMILY? it could have been so easy if my parents were sox fans i'd be celebrating a world championship and probably trolling this board
