  1. Sosa in 2004 gave us a more productive season than Burnitz gave us in 2005, and likely more production than Jacque Jones will give us in 2006 and beyond. I miss him to death.
  2. So this means Wood is definitely a no go to be ready for opening day?
  3. john kruk seemingly hating all the new schools of thought on hitting but being almost a perfect example of a "moneyball" player.
  4. 59) someone with a slightly better glove then todd walker but with a 700 ops is at second base and saves the season
  5. I could be wrong, but I think Hawk is already in as an announcer.
  6. dipped in chocolate
  7. Neither Hairston or Mabry is close to being a "good enough" 4th OF. Good enough to the point where we don't need to sign another outfielder, unless they have at least a .900 OPS.
  8. No way Hendry is THAT dumb. Murton will outproduce Grissom, and Mabry is already a good enough 4th OF, and Hairston is decent enough at that role as well.
  9. My 1998 Ford Escort has been a dependable buddy for 5 years. My only complaint is that the front defrost thing works awfully, but the car guy said that's pretty standard in the Escort. And it's made in 1998 but it has no cruise control, wtf. Other than that, I've been pleased. I don't have any loyalty to any company or where the car is made, so my next car will be whatever strikes my fancy, domestic or foreign.
  10. agree Haha, and imagine all the fangirls if Zito were to become a Cub. Wrigley would turn into 90% 14 year old girls.
  11. maybe we'll see you in the super bowl unless of course we have to face the bills in the playoffs by some weird chance :x
  12. ok, maybe hendry is the 2nd worst gm in the world
  13. Of course, if you take into account Walker's OBP PLUS his SLG (the main reason I like to keep him around), the list of 2nd basemen above Walker shrinks considerably. The following NL 2B had a higher OPS than Walker last season: Chase Utley Jeff Kent That is all. Walker also costs us only 2.5 million.
  14. nice touch on admitting the angels have no reason/desire to trade him, yet putting it in transactions anyways
  15. if denver wins i win survival football again!
  16. I don't think so. The only appearance was as a late-inning defensive replacement. He was never credited with a plate appearance that I can find. well, the field of dreams reference was obvious to me when i typed it out. now that i read my post, it's pretty easy to see that no one else would catch it.
  17. i'm pretty sure moonlight has 1 rbi
  18. JAVIER VALENTIN and i love this man, but adam dunn pretty much hits 3 homers a game when he faces the cubs.
  19. to be fair he only put up a 1.797 ops against the cubs with a 1.182 slg%.
  20. Javier Valentin, backup catcher for the Reds, put together some ridiculous offensive numbers. http://www.baseball-reference.com/v/valenja01.shtml In 221 at bats, Javier Valentin put up a higher OPS then: Bobby Abreu, Miguel Tejada, Cliff Floyd, Hideki Matsui, and Jason Varitek.
  21. Why didn't we offer the same contract to Reggie? Surely he would have chosen Chicago over KC, and he's a lot better than Jacque.
  22. The worst part is that he's considering trading Prior for what could amount to a 1 year rental, since Tejada can demand a trade if he doesn't like the way the Cubs are going.
  23. He looks like an 11 year old boy.
  24. That's a lot of prospects, and Florida woud never do it anyways.
