  1. No way Hideki plays anywhere but New York. Probably for his whole career.
  2. haha you're not that far off
  3. I'll put my life savings on the over.
  4. True. What was his batting average this season? Wasn't it something like .263? Weren't a lot of his dings with bases empty? Andruw Jones isn't in the top 10 in the NL in OPS. And he finished a very close second. That about sums up my feelings.
  5. According to Dan Patrick's show, the penalties are actually stricter if you are caught possessing steroids, and even more stricter if you are caught distributing them. Can't remember specific details though.
  6. I'm ok with this. As long as Andruw didn't win.
  7. And I don't think it's fair to take credit away from A-Rod because you hate him.
  8. Definitely. And honestly I would take Pierre as a replacement for Corey if a Corey trade landed us an impact RF bat. I just don't think it'd be necessary to replace Corey with Pierre.
  9. And for the record, Bruce Levine radio reports mean nothing to me.
  10. Pierre isn't very good. I'd rather improve at RF and SS and keep Corey at CF. What if Corey, in a package, could help the Cubs get an impact RF? Then good for us. But I still don't think that means we need to get Pierre. It wouldn't be hard at all to find someone else who could give us a sub .700 OPS without giving up prospects.
  11. Pierre isn't very good. I'd rather improve at RF and SS and keep Corey at CF.
  12. i didn't find it difficult to comprehend Good for you and thanks for making another post about nothing. You get one gold star. :D PMSing? That was original. Seriously, why do you keep wasting posts with nothing to say? then end it by not responding, please. If you want to talk about Pierre talk about Pierre otherwise, please refrain from wasting space with these posts. It adds nothing to the discussion. Oh shut up. You're the one who started the mess by belittling a poster. Sorry my posts aren't of that type of quality. Jackass.
  13. that was lame
  14. Right  . The man is 32 and keeps himself in excellent condition. Very few people have sharp declines at 32, and those that do aren't nearly as talented as Ichiro. I wonder how many people said Kenny Lofton was due for a sharp decline 6 years ago, or Finley 8 years ago, etc. And those guys aren't as talented as Ichiro. If Ichiro bats .280 next season, then you essentially have Neifi Perez. I'm just saying it's due. It might not happen, but I wouldn't be shocked.
  15. thanks for the info! Pierre is the top priority over Furcal? That's new. Very interesting. and very stupid
  16. You also have to consider that Pie can play CF very well, has a different role in the lineup and will cost a fraction of the price for the next 5 years. I agree with the general point, but I don't think it makes sense to look at it that simply. Morgan Ensberg put up a better OPS than Adam Dunn last year, but I don't think I would trade Pie for him. Ensberg also isn't 26 years old. And 3B isn't a weak position for us either.
  17. ichiro is about due for a SHARP decline. no thanks.
  18. Adam Dunn last season put up a higher OPS than Felix Pie will ever put up in his career, minors or majors. Of course you get rid of Pie for Dunn.
  19. And Adam Dunn coming to the Cubs is probably the only thing that could get me excited about this season. But I doubt it will happen. Kearns coming to the Cubs would be a much safer bet.
  20. You're from the area....do you really think that's all it would take as long as the Cubs pick up all the cash? I doubt it would be. But also, Milton is pretty much the most hated man in Cincy. And Marty Brenneman complains often about Adam Dunn, plus a lot of the local sports talk isn't all that thrilled with Dunn. If management feels the same as those 2, and if they also share the same love for Rich Hill that Hal McCoy does, I think it would be enough. But I doubt management feels the same as the announcers, fans, and sportswriters. I wish Hal McCoy was the GM of the team.
  21. Dunn + Milton for Jerome Williams and Rich Hill? Jerome Williams replaces Milton (and probably does a lot better job), and Hal McCoy for the Dayton Daily News has often suggested that the Reds love Rich Hill.
  22. huh? I dont' remember my first Cubs game all that much. I just know the Cubs beat the Pirates.
  23. I disagree. While it is true that several people predicted that Hollandsworth wouldn't produce anywhere near the numbers he put up in '04 before he got injured, no one predicted that he would be so far under his career averages. And no one predicted that Hollandsworth would start the year the way he did. No one. A lot of us predicted Hollandsworth would suck. It turned out, Hollandsworth sucked more than we expected. Bottom line, many of us were vehemently against the idea of Hollandsworth starting in LF. Many of us. And we were right.
