  1. hahahaha what the hell is going on
  2. I also hope he is playing instead of Mr. Perez. Mr.? Way Way to nice. I really wish these posts weren't made before I made the edit. :(
  3. If Walker gets traded, I pray to Len he's our everyday 2B.
  4. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/worldclassic2006/news/story?id=2294525 WBC television schedule.
  5. Heeeeeere's Neifi... .263/.295/.358 in 407 PA, 1.7 VORP Yikes, I'm less optimistic than BP when it comes to predicting Neifi's 2006 numbers. less optimistic? Meaning he'll have more ABs? I don't think he can put up a .295 OBP. You're probably forgetting to take into account Neifi's inevitable .368/.403/.559 April line Neifi will put up to assure he starts at SS every day.
  6. DUNN PLAYED LAST YEAR WITH A BROKEN HAND! http://www.daytondailynews.com/sports/content/sports/reds/daily/0128reds.html
  7. Tampa Bay Satan Rays
  8. Haha, if you think this is bad, wait until the Cubs lose 5 games in a row.
  9. So where did you read this 66% stolen base ratio? Please back up that fact. And don't get all peeved if someone says "slanderous", then right after that call someone bigoted because they disagree with you. And of course, after calling them bigoted, please don't accuse them of getting over emotional.
  10. Wuertz got the lucky draw in that. I'd dress up as Captain America all the time for fun.
  11. No way Molina's dumb enough to sit out a year.
  12. so if the move is unimportant, why did you make this comment? the move was getting overhyped by some... Thomas turns 38 in May and has missed a considerable amount of time the past 2 years. The guy could be going the way of other great power hitters/steroid users like Sosa & Bonds. His body's probably shot, but if he gets on Giambi's HGH who knows maybe he'll play half a year.... It's not that I think Thomas is going to put up a 300/400/600 line. It's more that he got a guy for only 500,000 (practically the league minimum) who could potentially give you that line. More likely than not, Thomas won't reach those numbers, but Beane made a signing where he has everything to gain, and practically nothing to lose. It COULD be a huge signing that pays off tremendously. And of course Thomas could break his foot trying to buy a hot dog, but if he does, Beane's only out 500K.
  13. I think he's a good GM too... Just not a god, which apparently makes me anti-Beane & on a crusade. *shrug* Even if you do think he's a good GM, you apparently have a problem with other people who think he is good. I don't recall anyone thinking Beane was a God either, but when you make stuff up, it makes your arguments better. And I think signing a player who came over a .900+ OPS season to a cheap contract was a great move. I don't think Beane can do no wrong, but he didn't do any wrong with this signing.
  14. I forgot, that was your first post ever about Beane and the fact that a lot of posters think he's a good GM.
  15. Shut up. Beane was criticized on this board for the Loaiza signing. Thomas at 500K is a great signing, and you're boring us with your anti-Beane crusade.
  16. that was supposed to work last year, though. Well we were the TOP CHOICE and it didn't work, we were UNDER THE RADAR and it didn't work. What else is there? It has to eventually work ONE way or the OTHER. I'd rather be the underdogs again. as long as the team has competent hitters and good pitching i don't care what they're labeled
  17. .293??? Yes sir. And I like the way RAW and Wrigley think.
  18. As is apparently every othe Cubs prospect unless the deal involves one of the top 5 players in baseball, and even then people around shake their heads. Trying to talk value on this board usually is very difficult. Williams is a very good trading chip for Chicago right now, perhaps the best they have to maximize value. Our starting pitching is weak and you want to trade one of our starters who has proven success at the ML level for a right fielder who isn't very good. I don't care if we trade Williams for someone who is useful. But Williams for Kearns is not good for the Cubs.
  19. Not too late to start this! What are everyone's predictions this year? Here's mine. .293/.444/.596 51 HR 124 RBI 201 K 133 BB 1 sac fly ...oh and did I mention NL MVP?! That's right, this is the year Dunn wins his first MVP! I just know it. I can't wait for the 2006 season!
  20. It's not just his OBP, which is nice. His ability to hit for extra bases (ie high SLG) is what excites me more.
  21. So Bonds didn't know about the steroid testing when he first signed on for it?
  22. I dunno, maybe he is. Believe what you want I guess. Dunn doesn't get a ton of hits, but he still reaches base more than most people because of walks. He also hits for more extra bases than most, even though he doesn't get as many hits as most. Low batting average, high strikeout total, I don't need to see anything else!
  23. Adam Dunn vs RHP: .273/.421/.580/1.001 Adam Dunn vs LHP: .197/.321/463/.784 Seems to be a lot of guys that have trouble against Lefties. I'd hang on to that farm system. the obvious difference being that dunn is still good against lefties. jones is worthless against lefties. Trading for Kearns would be asinine but platooning jones makes a lot of sense. I would give up a b prospect for kearns, nothing more. I would rather trade williams for westbrook than kearns. huh? dunn is almost as good against lefties as jones is against righties. Dunn's 3 year OPS against LHP: .801 Jones's 3 year OPS against RHP: .807
  24. Hughes recognizing the importance of OBP is refreshing. I wonder if Hendry feels the same about it too.
