  1. plz tell your offensive coordinator not to run the ball but only pass
  2. hendry will hire girardi, for the main purpose of "making nice" with cubs fans.
  3. i always thought the only fun in baseball cards was opening packs
  4. tigers or the a's in the world series? helloooooooo ratings!
  5. oops. i forgot to renew that one, and the steve stone one.
  6. True. But, I'd like to see Pedro Feliz in Cubbie Blue. Give me Feliz, Soriano, Zito, and a ARam for ARod swap, and then we're talking. why on earth do you want pedro feliz?
  7. I dont think he's the greatest, but would probably be better than whats available. For the price of Torre we could get a very productive player instead.
  8. like it has been said before, all i really want from a new manager is to take care of the pitcher's arms. it's a given that any manager is going to overuse the sac bunt, so whoever takes the best care of the pitcher should get the job.
  9. they're both play by play guys. this doesn't make much sense.
  10. well this game certainly won't shut up the jeter lovers who think he's some amazing post season performer
  11. WHITE SOX 2005 VANCE They won inspite of their small ballish ways not because of them! they won because of ozzie's fiery latin temper
  12. WHITE SOX 2005 VANCE
  13. the question isn't necessarily how much to spend. it's how to spend it wisely.
  14. Here's how our expensive bullpen faired: 12th in the majors in ERA (4.06) 29th in the majors in saves (29) 1st in the majors in strikeouts by a significant margin (553, next best was 485) 4th in the majors in walks (255) 2nd in the majors in IP (562.0) 6th in the majors in losses (27) 9th in BAA (.248) 14th in OPSA (.735) 15th in WHIP (1.40) 7th in K/BB 1st in K/9 So what's the lesson here? All that money got us a slightly above average bullpen, and the worst record in the national leagues? Or maybe it's foolish to neglect offensive holes in the offseason for the sake of getting a better bullpen.
  15. hahahaha, this is going to be great. get cubs fans all excited with the exit of macphail and dusty, and then end up bringing in 2 guys who are worse. you know it's going to happen.
  16. Do you think there's a realistic chance for the Cubs competing next season? What movie are you more looking forward to, the Borat movie or Tenacious D in the Pick Of Destiny? Have you ever wondered why Jim Hendry and Dusty Baker constantly comment on how their pitchers giving up walks always ends up hurting them, while never acknowledging that the fact our hitters drawing so few walks hurts us just as much? Assume Dusty Baker is out next season, who do you want managing the Cubs next year? The playoff teams are pretty much all decided. Who ya got winning it all? What do you think is more valuable? A catcher who produces offensively while being below average defensively, or a defensive catcher who stinks with the bat?
  17. he's had an awful last 2 months, but his babip is low considering his line drive percentage, so that suggests it could all be bad luck. with his salary steadily increasing while having 2 awful months, now would probably be the time to get dunn if he ever was available, which he probably isn't.
  18. Totally agree, and have thought so for quite some time. I love when the Bears play the Falcons. That was my favorite game last season. Same here. I have never liked quarterbacks that relied on their legs to make plays. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that I don't like fast quarterbacks. What I am saying is that I prefer quarterbacks that can throw the ball first and will use their legs if necessary. okay jim hendry. Please. Don't insult me. This is completely different from baseball. How many starting NFL quarterback's rely on their legs more than their arms this year? Michael Vick. Period. There's a reason for that. Is it a coincidence that the Eagles made the Super Bowl the same year in which McNabb had the most passing yards (by 500), highest quarterback rating (by 18 points) and least rushing yards (by 93) of his career? I think not. There is a reason the option doesn't work in the NFL and it's the same reason why quarterbacks that rely on their legs aren't very successful in the NFL. i was kidding. when i read the part in bold it reminded me of the famous jim hendry quote. i hate michael vick too.

  20. Nothing better than watching my favorite team blow the game while nursing the world's worst hangover in the lounge at Bally's in Vegas. Your boys look sharp Rocket. Now if they can only stay out of the hospital and the penitentiary, you might have a deep playoff run to enjoy. if ryan freel has taught cincinnati sports anything, it's that you can have a dui and still be productive.
  21. great. maybe someone should have told odell that david pollack has a [expletive] broken neck and him returning would be pretty helpful.
  22. to be fair, the no huddles against seattle were when seattle was up 40+ points. not sure that's a fair sample.
  23. INTERCEPTION! BENGALS WIN!!!
  24. STUPID STUPID STUPID BENGALS, COME ON.
