I think the whole "Dusty has a calming influence" thing has been debunked. The clubhouses got more chaotic the longer he stuck around.

All I want Lou to do is protect the pitcher's arms. We already know that any available manager is gonna be old school and overdo (mostly) useless things like sac bunts and the hit and run. Anyone available is gonna put the fastest guy in the leadoff spot, and probably demand useless veteran bench players that could easily be filled by league-minimum rookies. So, just protect the young arms, and do whatever else.

I really doubt that's true. It's game day for the NLCS, and several people involved had relationships with the deceased. I think any player would be talked about like this. And especially how he died. Any d-list celebrity piloting a plane that crashed into a NYC building would be huge news anywhere.

I sometimes wonder if the last guy who interviews will get the job. On the flip side, maybe that's Henry being secretive. so hendry's already decided to emulate the tigers strategy of "old manager to fire up team"? let's hope they lose the world series so he reconsiders.
