  1. I just want to prove we can win on the road :( we just took 2 out of 3 in san diego
  2. GUYS WE JUST CAME OFF A 9 GAME WINNING STREAK. RELAX.
  3. the classic catch the ball while upright and then fall down
  4. i'll get to see vin scully call the cubs today. i guess that's fun.
  5. earl weaver has made me decide to make the orioles my a.l team. i'll just wait til their good to REALLY follow them, though.
  6. i don't want to sound reactionary, but is theriot among the worst defensive shortstops in baseball? jesus.
  7. haha, that theriot vs. derosa entry is awesome. i'm ok with him starting over cedeno now.
  8. agreed I dont think ive ever been to WSI, so I went to check it out. First thread I saw? wtg guys hopefully hendry has already offered mark derosa for their 8th pick
  9. i was the opposite. when i pitched, i had very good control, but not much velocity. i hardly ever walked anyone, so i usually did pretty well. the only problem i had is whenever i faced a kid that had talent, i usually got smoked.
  10. 72nd place! Tadahito Iguchi (40) and Josh Fogg (51) are my biggest contributors, and everyone has a positive contribution on my team except for Brian Giles. Though Edmonds' number is going down, which is good for the Cubs but bad for my team.
  11. or you could just ignore his response to the whole bartman matter, like everyone else in the world
  12. He didn't really answer my question
  13. Geovany Soto is dominating the all-star vote. And apparently Alfonso Soriano is a rookie. I think we can all band together and get DeRosa in over Utley. Utley doesn't deserve to start. http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news?slug=txnlallstarballot&prov=st&type=lgns
  14. Once again? Z had 5 starts last year coming off a high pitch count (120 or more) 4 of them were quality starts. 9 innings, 1 run 8 innings, 1 run 7 innings, 3 runs 6 2/3 innings, 0 runs 5 innings, 6 runs for a total ERA of 2.77 after a high pitch count last year, which is quite a bit better than his ERA for the season last year. Taking a quick look through game logs from previous seasons (when Z was over 120 with some regularity) it does not look like Z was noticeably worse coming off high pitch counts than any other time. i could have sworn someone once posted z's stats after big pitch counts and they weren't pretty. perhaps i misremembered.
  15. and let the record show that once again z was horrible after coming off a high pitch count. hopefully lou learns his lesson.
  16. maybe that 3 run homer will be the best thing to happen to marmol this season.
  17. i've seen other forums do it, and it saves us the 2 seconds it takes to click on a link to visit the youtube video. i say this should be implemented.
  18. unless wood blows a save in the ninth inning of game seven of the world series... then we go find budhouse and tear him limb from limb Knowing our luck as Cubs fans, he'll have saved 40 in a row giving up 3 runs in 45 appearances leading up to that game 7 WS blown save. I'm not sure my heart can handle another situation like this. '84 killed my innocence. '03 almost killed me. '84, game 4 - I can still see Lee Smith giving up that HR to popeye arms Steve Gravey, Henry Cotto climbing the fence in a vain effort to catch it - man, I hated Lee Smith. After that I knew it was over, sure the Cubs had an 3-0 lead in game 5 but, I knew it was over. Just like Game 6. After Kerry hit the 3-run homer in Game 7 and everyone was going ballistic, I knew they weren't going to win. I had that game on in the background but barely paid any attention to it. You just don't come back after a Game 6-type loss. You just don't. kinda like how the astros, in 2005, didn't come back after pujols hit that 900 foot home run off of lidge with 2 outs in the 9th in game 6.
  19. oh my dear god yes
  20. about time we're not in the bitch division.
