  1. well to be fair, soriano would probably have in the neighborhood of 20 if he wasn't injured.
  2. i didn't watch any of the game, and read about it on the internet afterwards. i'm ok.
  3. are you kidding? edmonds still stares at his homers. it just seemed like he stared longer as a cardinal because we all hated him then.
  4. when jim edmonds now hits a home run, instead of staring at it he spells out home run with his body. here he is working on the 'r'.
  5. at jim's current home run pace as a cub, if he had 500 at bats he'd have about 43 home runs.
  6. ATTA BOY JIMMMMMMMMAY! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
  7. i was gonna comment, before reading this entire thread, that it seems that he's started a lot of counts lately 0-2. the pitchers are nibbling the corners and kosuke's letting the first 2 go and is falling behind. but since he's a solid 2 strike hitter, i guess that shot my theory down really quick.
  8. didn't choi hit one into mccovey cove too?
  9. thank god that hopped over the fence
  10. there you go marquis, pitch around the worst hitter in the majors.
  11. this is also one of the first times they're in a position to make the playoffs.
  12. .303/.373/.528/.901 without this past weekend. i meant the other way, what his numbers would have looked like without his tremendous 3 game series in wrigley against the sox.
  13. wow. i wonder what aramis' numbers would have looked like without that sox series in wrigley. i was assuming he dominated the whole month.
  14. This is pretty excellent. Link
  15. The Rays are really good. The White Sox are really good. The Orioles are halfway decent. This is a tough part of the schedule. Did you all expect us to plow through it with no issues? If we win the game tomorrow, we go 4-2 against the Sox. That's excellent. If we lose tomorrow, we split the season series against them, which isn't that big of a deal. We got swept against one of the top 5 teams in baseball on the road. Yeah, it sucks, but it's not like we got dominated by an inferior team. Losing 2 of 3 against the Orioles sucked. But you know, the best team is not always going to win a 3 game series. So in other words, what's wrong right now? Nothing. We're just playing good teams right now. If we tread water, we'll be fine and still be well on our way to 90+ victories.
  16. if the cubs trade for zito i really might quit this team.
