I think if Beane is willing to trade Harden now in the middle of a pennant race that his team's a part of, I'd be very wary of the deal. It probably means that Beane knows Harden's arm is about to fall off again and he wants to get something for him now.

they had a writer from toronto on the score today talking about this, he said it was a long shot and would require a good package but isn't completely out of the question I'd kill for Halladay, but I just don't see the Cubs having the ammunition to pull that kind of a deal off. i think he's a 10/5 player now, so halladay would have to want to be a cub in first place for this to happen.

i was a big fan of 30 rock until i heard alec baldwin's voicemail to his daughter. i can see where redivy is coming from. -
this is about as likely as the brewers trading us sabathia. but roy halladay is about to get very expensive (14.25 in 09 and 15.75 in 10), and they probably don't have much chance of competing with the rays, red sox, and to a lesser extent the yankees. maybe jim can convince ricciardi that halladay hates playing baseball.
