  1. Geo gets into the act with a long home run to get that run right back. Will Ohman time for the White Sox.
  2. 440 foot blast from Soriano...4 home runs in the last 4 games as DH...anyone in the AL interested? :)
  3. Garza looking very good so far. Time for a few more runs.
  4. All in all, it was a good job by Camp to get it to extra innings.
  5. Hard to believe 7 runs isn't going to be enough to beat the Twins.
  6. I'd take the $6M and become a Houston fan. No doubt about it. At least they are moving to the American League so if he turns out to be another Troy T the Cubs won't have to face him multiple times a year.
  7. Too bad Quentin didn't need a few more days of injury rehab...
  8. I realize this is petty and I should be a better person and fan than this, but, as irrational as I know it is, I simply cannot forgive Dempster for the game1 performance against the Dodgers in the playoffs. No, it wasn't entirely his fault. Yes the team didn't score much for him and yes I do like him as a ballplayer. However, the team needed a big time performance in that game from him. To come out so small, so nervous, so wild.....after a season of so much hope. I simply can't look past that. I know the issue is entirely mine and I may be alone. To me, the guy is a #3 at best. Well - I did say my hatred was irrational but a lot of it is because of game 1 too. And as someone else said, his schtick. But mainly, it is because the media loves him. No one threw him under the bus last year when he argued with Quade in Pittsburgh. No one went after him when he foolishly hurt himself jumping over a fence a few years back. Kaplan loves him. So their love for him seems to impact their treamtent of him. Meanwhile, they couldn't write and say enough bad things about other members of past teams who were pretty darn productive as players. Now, with that said, I have felt very sorry for him this year. He is one of the few Cubs doing his job at a high level.
  9. My irrational hatred of Ryan Dempster is being fueled today. Nice to see Clevenger back in the line up and getting a rbi hit in his first at bat.
  10. No real changes because Dale really doesn't have a lot of options... DeJesus - RF Campana - CF Castro - SS LaHair - 1b Soriano - LF Stewart - 3B Cardenas - 2B Hill - C Garza - P The thing that gets me is how no matter who the manager is, Koyie Hill starts almost every day when the starting catcher gets hurt. I realize the Cubs are down to the 4th string, but is Blake Lalli really that bad that Koyie Hill is the better option? It is very sad if that is true.
  11. Which is the only reason you're back. That is where you are wrong Numb Nuts. I mean Nuts&Gum. Like most here, I did not have a lot of expectations this year, but I never thought I'd be watching a game in which Reed Johnson, Jeff Baker and Koyie Hill started after Theo and Company were hired. Trust me, I would much rather be watching young players gaining valuable experience than watch terrible veterans lose again and again. You basically don't post when they win. You only post to wallow in misery. And you basically post to take shots at other posters. I post when I get a chance and this year there is a real good probability they will lose at those times when I can post. But really, I am not mad about them losing necessarily. It is just very disappointing to watch these bad veterans given more opportunities.

  13. The train has come off the tracks...the march to 100 losses is back on.
  14. Why is Jeff Russell pitching. This game was over already, there is no reason to have him pitch again.
  15. Dempster gets his personal valet back, Koyie Hill, while Reed Johnson and Jeff Baker patrol the outfield. Fans couldn't complain loud enough about how Jim Hendry built a roster. Now for some reason Epstein and Hoyer are making the same idiotic decisions. What the hell is going on at Wrigley Field?
  16. Speaking of Iowa. Anthony Rizzo with his 14th home run (2 run shot) and Vitters his 4th home run tonight as the Iowa Cubs lead 4-2 in the bottom of the 5th. Brett Jackson is 2 for 2 as well.
  17. Two more bad innings should equal a trip to Iowa for Volstad. I believe he has one option left. If he doesn't, his groin better be bothering him like Lendy Castillo's :^o
  18. Now that is a shut down inning. Too bad it was for the Phillies.
  19. Damage minimized, but letting a pitcher start a rally is disappointing. Let's see if the bottom of the order for the Cubs can get something started again.
  20. Soriano!!! Way to make them pay for the dropped flyball. Hot streak coming???
