  1. The comeback starts in the 7th with Castro, Rizzo and Soriano the first three in a long line of batters...
  2. Way too late Dale. Here is an idea...quit pitching Chipper Jones on the outside corner if you are going to position your defense the way you do.
  3. Who is next in the 5th starter derby? Assuming Dempster is traded.
  4. Travis Wood gets the get away day line up...poor guy. Johnson CF Castro SS Rizzo 1B Baker RF Soto C Mather LF Barney 2B Valbuena 3B Wood P Since wins are not important this year there is no excuse to sit LaHair. If they think he has any future with the Cubs, they need to give him a legitimate chance against left handed pitchers. Especially when this team has struggled so much against left handed starters.
  5. It would be nice to add a run or two in the bottom of the 8th since Marmol will have to deal with 3-4-5 in the Mets order.
  6. What a rip and then good base running. I like him. =D>
  7. Please keep it going Starlin Bloop single so Rizzo gets to hit with guys on base again. Thank you Starlin
  8. Maine seems to have no idea where the ball is going but only giving up 1 there is a positive development. I don't know if Volstad will get another chance, but it would be hard to send Wells out there again in 5 days.
  9. In other news...Arroyo not only gives up his first hit but then 3 runs in the 8th.
  10. Two on and no outs...Rizzo better be bunting. :D
  11. Randy Wells, you make it impossible to like you.
  12. Gift hit for Rizzo. Nice to see him hit the ball hard though.
  13. Popping up from the slide when Castro tags the attempted base stealer. Cubs catch a break. Rizzo handles his first chance without an issue. Cubs now coming to bat.
  14. So a guy coming off knee surgery, specifically a catcher, playing the most stressful position on the field, should be expected to start every day straight off the DL? That's some sound logic right there. Then DH him. Plus there's an off day tomorrow. Why DH Soto when Soriano is filling the role just fine.
  15. So will Sveum go with this line up one more time tomorrow or will Soto need a day off to rest the knee?
  16. Leadoff triple and the Cubs can't add the insurance run. Terrible. Hopefully Marmol is on his game tonight.
  17. It is a little surprising Ventura has left Peavy in this long even though he has been very good.
  18. The thought process of Cub hitters leaves a lot to be desired.
  19. I think that rule was changed a couple of years ago and pitchers can go to their mouth as long as they don't go from their mouth to the ball. LaHair swings at ball four and Castro gets thrown out stealing.
  20. We're probably facing a lefty which will probably mean Jeff Baker in RF and Koyie Hill signed off waivers to play 1B. I think Peavy goes Tuesday night for the White Sox. I might call up a lefty if I was Kenny Williams :)
  21. Will Sveum go with this line up tomorrow night?
  22. Len said it was only the 6th time in mlb history it happened. One of them was Frank Thomas but I didn't hear if Len gave the other names.
  23. Valbuena with a 3 hit night including a long home run. Suck on it Hawk!
  24. The offense comes right back and scores two after the Sox scored 2. Very nice!
