  1. Wow that was Cub-like. Pitcher who has struggled with control hits the leadoff man and the Pirates respond by swinging at everything. I'll take it.
  2. So why when Rich Hill has control problems we send him down and eventually trade him but we let Marmol work through it?
  3. Can Bradley really be that much worse hitting RH against RHP than he is hitting LH?
  4. Thats a pretty horrible lineup for Pittsburgh. I guess that means we lose.
  5. Brewers lose. How did McGehee not hit a two-run walkoff HR there?
  6. Wow the board seems very divided on this. I don't see a problem with selling high on Wells, because its almost certain he will come back down to earth. I just don't think including him in a trade for a reliever is very smart. Every year you see teams send scraps to other teams for a good reliever in return. There are plenty of good relievers out there that we could get for less (Feliciano, Guerrier, Affeldt, Grabow). Of course none of them are as good as Bell, but I would rather either keep Wells and hope he continues to impress, or include him in a trade for a bat. Plus trading Wells would leave our rotation very thin. Like others, I'm not ready to see Shark as a starter yet.
  7. Its risky but this is what happens when a team is desperate for offense. Plus the sooner we find out if Ramirez is going to be able to play adequately or not the more time we'll have before the deadline to swing a trade if needed.
  8. Am I the only one who wouldn't trade Wells for Bell straight up? I know Bell is good, and I realize that Wells is going to come back down to earth some, but the fact is good starting pitchers are harder to come by than good relievers. Wells hasn't show me any reason why he wouldn't continue to be a very good #5 starter. If we're going to get a bullpen arm, I much rather go after someone like Feliciano who would cost a little less and is more of an 8th inning guy that could give Marmol a break. Kevin Gregg hasn't been as bad as some people think.
  9. Wow I could have sworn they roughed him up more than that. I suppose they got to him pretty good that first start.
  10. Yeah Patton and Hart should definitely be gone before Ascanio, although Ascanio hasn't been that great either. If we could see the 2008 MLB version of Shark that would be nice.
  11. Excited for the game tonight. Probably because we're playing the Pirates, but also because I don't get CSN+ so if they play like they did on Sunday I can exit out of Gameday and pretend like they're not playing. :D
  12. It wouldn't begin to free up enough money for any kind of impact bat. We'd free up $3 million in 2010 and $6 million in 2011. Well in that case its probably not a good idea if we can't somehow acquire a replacement for RF. I could live with a Hoff/Fox platoon in RF if we got a good bat back somewhere else (2B). Luis Castillo is not an upgrade though. If only we had signed Ibanez :(
  13. I'm all for trading Bradley and getting rid of that contract, but Luis Castillo cannot do anymore at 2B than Fontenot can. However, if this frees up enough money for us to swing a trade for someone like Adam Dunn then I don't even think twice about it.
  14. Haven't the Brewers owned Santana since he went to New York? Please stop.
  15. What was worse, the Pierre trade or DeRosa trade?
  16. Please, we're going to put Z on waivers and he'll be gone before then. Trashsel will be making the start instead. I'd still take Trachsel over Suppan. Unless its the NLCS.
  17. The next five pitching matchups look like this: Ted Lilly vs Ross Ohlendorf Randy Wells vs Virgil Vazquez Ryan Dempster vs Seth McClung Carlos Zambrano vs Jeff Suppan Rich Harden vs Braden Looper We have an edge in all five of those matchups. At least go 4-1 please.
  18. For some reason today I don't have that same feeling of fear I usually have when Gregg is trying to close out a game. Perhaps has something to do with the team we're playing.
  19. LOL a grand-slam for Casey McGehee. I really want to see what Aaron Miles could do in a Brewers uniform.
  20. Two-run double by Brian Schneider. Mets cut the lead to 3-2.
  21. That should definitely be it for Harden. Good outing. Few too many hits but I'll never complain about one run in seven innings. Yeah a couple more runs would be nice.
