  1. Last night was probably the best he has looked left-handed all year. Although I could easily see him going on a tear and then getting injured. Seems very Cub-like.
  2. I thought all the called strike threes were borderline, could have went either way. That said, all of them were too close to take with two strikes, yet we took all three. Franklin deserves credit as well, almost perfect pitch location the entire inning. Even if we make contact, chances are we go down 1-2-3. I told myself going into this series I'd be happy with a split. 3.5 back with four games against the 26-61 Washington Nationals immediately after the break. Anything less than three wins there will be considered a huge disappointment. I would say we need to sweep but its hard to sweep a four-game set on the road, regardless of who the opponent is.
  3. Fontenot must really be in Lou's doghouse. Baker two games in a row, both vs RHP. Actually, three games in a row vs RHP for Baker counting yesterday's game against Thompson. I know Fontenot hasn't been very good, but still.

  5. Have we discussed how good Gregg has been lately?
  6. I'll take a split tomorrow and go into the all-star break 3.5 out.
  7. Lee stayed in and scored from 2nd on the Soriano hit, how hurt can he be?
  8. Is this team capable of tacking on runs?
  9. I'll never understand why people put half a garden on their hot dogs. Mustard and onions only please.
  10. I'll be optimistic and say we split at the very least, and maybe take three of four. This team always seems to play well in important regular season games. Its not really a surprise they treated the Atlanta series like a vacation between the Milwaukee and St. Louis series. That said, I think we lose today's game, but I like our chances over the weekend.
  11. Lol. Just as I say that the Brewers take a 1-0 lead.
  12. A pitcher's duel going on between Manny Parra and Joel Pineiro. Both offenses should be ashamed of themselves.
  13. "Some damage"? So much for the "mild" oblique strain. This sucks. Healthy for a day then just like that two all-stars from 2008 go down. Neither were having a career year, but will still be missed nonetheless.
  14. Does anyone else think Kosuke gave up on that ball way too early?
  15. All of this because the ball hits the bag at first.
  16. I have a feeling we're going to be hoping for a rainout after the first couple innings of Hart. Edit: Wrong thread lol.
  17. Thank you for not making us re-live a Bob Howry implosion.
  18. Maybe Hart will follow in the path of Randy Wells as a starter. That would be asking for a lot considering how horrible Hart was last year, but you never know. I say give him a few starts, and if its disasterous and Dempster is still hurt then let Marshall go back to starting. I don't really want Fossum on this team though. When is Waddell supposed to be back?
  19. Of course this happens the day after we get three key players back.
