  1. Ravens over Colts Chargers over Jets Cardinals over Saints Vikings over Cowboys The Cardinals put up 51 points against a good defense, and with Boldin possibly coming back and the Saints not playing good football for a month now, I like the Cardinals. I also hope I'm wrong about the Vikings winning.
  2. Of course this is happening.
  3. Looks like the Packers have the worst kicker AND kick returner in the NFL.
  4. The more I read about Martz, the less I want him as OC. But anyone is better than Turner I suppose, except for Shoop and Shea.
  5. Jets over Bengals Patriots over Ravens Packers over Cardinals Cowboys over Eagles Jets over Colts Chargers over Patriots Saints over Packers Cowboys over Vikings Chargers over Jets Saints over Cowboys Saints over Chargers Those are my predictions, don't ask me why I have the Jets going that far, just a feeling.
  6. This should have been a blowout by Iowa, but a win is a win. What is great is this team should be even better next year. They'll likely have a three-headed monster at RB with Robinson, Wegher, and Hampton.
  7. Its not Lovie's fault that he has a mediocre running back. If we had a Chris Johnson/Adrian Peterson type of player, would you have a problem with Lovie saying he wants to run the football? Especially coming off a year when we got away from the run, although after hearing the report about Forte's injury, it seems as if there could have been a legitimate reason for it. Considering the NFL is a pass-first league now, and that almost all the teams that made the playoffs this year are pass-heavy offenses, it's Lovie's fault for insisting on playing a style that just doesn't work in the league. Never mind he doesn't have the personnel for it either, he's just stubborn and naive. I agree that NFL is a pass-first league, and I'm aware of Lovie's usual philosophy of being a run-first team, but unless I misheard I think all he said today was being able to run the football, something we didn't do well this year. I'm pretty sure he didn't take any importance away from the passing game or say that running comes first, although I can see why someone would assume thats what he meant since he has implied that in the past.

  9. Titular defensive coordinator, actually just linebackers coach. His contract expired. Got it. Thanks.
  10. I hear all this talk about a new DC but nothing yet about Babich being fired. What did he even do for the team this past year with Lovie calling plays?
  11. I prefer Weis but I wouldn't mind Martz. Either is an instant upgrade over Turner.
  12. http://www.chicagobreakingsports.com/2010/01/bears-fire-offensive-coordinator-ron-turner.html Fantastic.
  13. Wow. I like Bell, but we need a guy that can take over if Forte is hurt, cuz that's crazy. I really want to believe that this contributed to his sub-par season, but I'm not sure. Either way, as long as he can get the ypc back up around 4 like he had last year, hes plenty valuable. A few less fumbles would be nice too.
  14. We should have thrown our 2011 first-rounder into the mix and got both him and Cutler.
  15. Using interception totals to compare CBs is like using batting average to compare baseball players. I don't think there are many people here who wouldn't take Revis over Woodson.
  16. I'm sure they had an idea going in that they were going to draft o-line with the first pick, so taking Chris Williams instead of Chris Johnson doesn't really bother me. By the time their 2nd rounder came up, Johnson was already gone. So I guess I'm just wondering what they saw in Forte that they liked over Rice and Charles.
  17. Probably Muhsin, and it wouldn't be the first time hes thrown the Bears' offense under the bus.
  18. and every single team in the nfl would have taken darren mcfadden far higher than either of them. like i said, i don't get it. drafting matt forte ahead of rice and charles is not something bears fans should be red-assed over. Forte did have a better rookie season than either of them, but a lot of that was because Forte became the starter right away. Both Rice and Charles are better than Forte, each averaged almost two yards a carry more this season. That said, I'm sure blocking/playcalling has a lot to do with it, although the Chiefs don't exactly have a great offense either. And like others said, we don't nearly have it as bad as the Raiders do right now with McFadden. Forte's 1400 yards from scrimmage this year wasn't bad, but the 3.5 ypc left a lot to be desired.
  19. Jets' pass defense is something else.
  20. The Bears passed on both Ray Rice and Jamaal Charles to get Matt Forte. What an amazing organization we have.
  21. 27 TDs in a season is a career high for Cutler. Defense wasn't good today, but the offense was great again, even though it was the Lions. The only bad thing about the emergence of Aromashodu is that it probably makes the Bears less likely to sign a free agent WR.
  22. Instead of trading Hester, why don't we just let Devin A. become our #1 WR (or #2 if we sign a #1 in the off-season), and move Hester back to KR/PR? He didn't have a bad year as a WR, but he seemed much more valuble when he was strictly returning kicks and punts, as I'm sure has been brought up many times already. After all, we went to the Super Bowl that way.
  23. Yes. I'd argue no when you consider the limited budget and other places we need help. Obviously Byrd is better, I just don't know for this team right now. That would mean Fuld becomes a full-time player. Probably end up around a .650-675 OPS, maybe not even that good. Compare that with the .800 OPS that Byrd will likely put up. 100-150 points of OPS is a lot. Sure Fuld's defense is better, but not nearly enough to compensate for the difference in OPS. Maybe, I'd think Fuld could be around 700. I definitely understand your point though. I don't know, I'd be more excited doing something with 15 million that moved Riot to 2nd and brought us a SS. Let's see where else the offseason goes to judge this move on the whole I suppose. Where's he hitting? 7? The 20 home runs seems to be the anomaly last year I too would have rather done something with 2B or SS, but when you have an organization that likes Theriot and is fine with a Baker/Fontenot platoon at 2B, there isn't much hope for addressing those positions.
