  1. Opening the season on the road against one of the best rotations in baseball is tough. Hopefully next year we begin with the Pirates or Nationals at Wrigley to even that out.
  2. Good Lord theres a Heyward in this game too?
  3. Finally! I'm pretty excited for tomorrow, but much more excited for April 12th. Nothing beats the Wrigley opener.
  4. The only players I might take over Kosuke in that group are Dunn, Hawpe, Crawford and Werth. Barring a Colvin breakout or a trade, we're looking at two years (at least) of poor right field production if we trade Kosuke. Add Kubel and Cuddyer to that list.
  5. Pretty exciting time of year. NCAA Tournament, MLB Opening Day, NBA Playoffs. Sadly, I think the Magic will have to make the Finals again (or win it all) to avoid this year being a disappointment. Hopefully a team gets hot and knocks out the Cavs before we get to them. I'm not confident about winning a seven-game series against them two years in a row.
  6. I know Colvin has yet to succeed in MLB regular season baseball, but even if he performs at 70% of the level hes at right now and in the meantime learns how to take walks, we're talking about a .800+ OPS OFer with good defense. It will be interesting to see what Lou does if Kosuke goes into a 2008-like slump and Colvin continues to hit.
  7. Me too, but really the only two guys I'm concerned about are Shark and Russell. Caridad and Berg have been nothing but studs since making the move to the majors. Granted its been a very small sample size, and they'll likely have their peaks and valleys, but they should be able to maintain ERAs in the 3s and WHIPs below 1.40. Not too worried about Marmol, Grabow, and Marshall.
  8. I guess I'm fine with this, as Marshall is a guy who can give you a couple quality innings in relief, and with the bullpen being an unknown at this point, that is important. I am still worried about this rotation, as I see Wells regressing a bit, but we can always make a trade at the deadline.
  9. Why would we release a guy who has been our best DE over the past number of years? His sack totals aren't great, but that doesn't tell the whole story with Brown. It would be a stupid move.
  10. Cubs with two early runs off Haren. Colvin and Fontenot with the RBIs.
  11. http://www.cbssports.com/collegebasketball/story/13099180/mri-confirms-ruptured-left-achilles-for-msus-lucas/rss Didn't see this posted here yet but Lucas is done with a ruptured achilles tendon. Does this make UNI the favorite now? I have 10/16, 6/8, 3/4, and 2/2. I suppose mine is in good shape compared to a lot of people.
  12. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: Silva in the rotation, Wells likely to regress, while Lilly and our bullpen remain huge question marks. I'm usually one of the more optimistic people on this board, but there is no way we're making a playoff run with this pitching. Hopefully we can stay in contention until July so Jim can perhaps pull off a trade similar to the Harden one... But lately I've been preparing myself for the realistic possibility of a complete overhaul. Our big hitters are getting old and the window will be closing soon, if it hasn't already. The good news is that we have a solid farm system now, so there is hope for the future. Unless Hendry can find a way to determine that we're one trade away from being a World Series contender, it would probably be best just to hold onto all our prospects and let this year and next year happen as they happen.
  13. Absolutely. According to things I've read, the weak schedule and the loss to Evansville really soured the committee. We'll see if they have enough gas left to get by MSU/Maryland.
  14. Incredible. Hopefully UNI is this year's George Mason. Go Panthers!
  15. 10 of 16 so far. Meh. The good news though is that I only lost one Sweet 16 team and zero Elite 8 teams. I think tomorrow will go better.
  16. I think UNI will be able to hang with Kansas. The question is for how long.
  17. http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/czar-trade-market-to-warm-up-031610 A year ago I would have said no, but T.O. has been pretty quiet lately media-wise. I am afraid, however, that with a bigger market and a better QB that he might revert back to the T.O. we saw in Philly and Dallas, although that would be a good thing on the field. He is pretty old though.
  18. I would really like to see Peanut moved to safety.
  19. UNI beats UNLV, upsets Kansas, then turns around and loses their Sweet 16 game. :stickman:
  20. Sorry I guess we have a whole thread about this that I missed lol.
  21. So is Millar on the team for sure then?
  22. Marquette is a 6 while UNI is only a 9? Thats cool.
  23. Lots of things are possible when you play the 09-10 New Jersey Nets.
