  1. They had one left According to NFL Game Center, they used all three timeouts.
  2. Bears were out of timeouts. I think they were hoping Cleveland would throw incomplete on 3rd down.
  3. How did Derek Anderson ever make a Pro Bowl?
  4. Oregon would rip them to pieces. I'd like to see that matchup. If Oregon would win so easily, why would you want to see that matchup?
  5. I definitely remember now how hard it is to like an undefeated team, as everyone else pretty much develops a hatred for your team. Went through it in 2006 with the Bears.
  6. So the none of the top teams in the country are allowed to have a bad three quarters of football? An 18-point win is an 18-point win.
  7. What a rebound by Stanzi.
  8. LOL. What a change of events.
  9. I don't think there are enough people rooting against Iowa here.
  10. What is your opinion on Redick? A decent bench player at best. He got more playing time last year and didn't seem to take advantage. He is worth keeping around though because he can hit threes and is practically automatic from the FT line, which is nice when trying to close out a game. He'll probably be seeing more playing time now with Carter injured.
  11. VC goes down with an ankle injury, its just like Grant Hill all over again. :banghead: Still headed toward a pretty easy win on the road against the Nets. If we can get our ideal lineup of Howard, Nelson, Carter, Lewis, and Pietrus/Anderson/Bass on the floor regularly, this team should win 60.
  12. I keep hearing rumors that KC plans to release Larry Johnson. If this happens, should the Bears be interested?
  13. Sometimes you don't realize how much you miss a lineman until they're gone, and I think thats the case here with John Tait.
  14. Magic lead by 25 against Philly. I should probably just accept the fact that they have the best chance out of all my teams for a championship and it will probably stay that way for quite some time.
  15. At first I wanted Minnesota to beat GB so our WC chances increase, but if we beat the Browns and the Vikings lose, we'll only be a game and a half out with two games against them and one against GB remaining. [/optimism] :D)
  16. How many mediocre receivers have we drafted in the 3rd round or later the last few years? We can't rely on getting lucky and finding a star WR in the later rounds. Every once in a while it happens, but we'll most likely have to made a trade or sign a FA. How many mediocre WRs have we busted on in the 1st round too? Well just 1 (Terrell) but he's the only one we've drafted. Actually I don't know why I'm arguing with you, I agree with you. The thing is, I don't trust anything drafted by Angelo at this point and time. How many league average starters has Angelo drafted in the last 4 drafts? One? Yes you can upgrade by FA, but if you can only draft 1 league average starter in your last 4 drafts (and I realize the last 2 drafts need more time to develop but so far so bad), the team is going to be in trouble. I agree with everything you're saying about Angelo and the draft, but I'm not sure how it relates to the point I was making. Although I agree that consistently drafting non-effective players is a serious problem, I was just simply stating that when it comes to the WR position, I believe our best chance to find a #1 guy is by FA or trade. Actually in Angelo's defense, he has made some nice picks in the later rounds (good players, not necessarily impact players), its the first two rounds that have been the problem, which is why I'm not all that upset that we don't have a first or second rounder next year.
  17. It's funny how you use Marshall as an example when Marshall was a 3rd round pick I believe. How many mediocre receivers have we drafted in the 3rd round or later the last few years? We can't rely on getting lucky and finding a star WR in the later rounds. Every once in a while it happens, but we'll most likely have to made a trade or sign a FA.
  18. I still hold my position that what this team needs the most is a talented possession WR. We've seen how great Brandon Marshall has made Orton look. I'm not sure I completely subscribe to the "QBs make the WR" theory, although I do think it is true to an extent. But we need a guy like Marshall, and it most likely isn't going to come via draft since all of our day one picks are gone. Also because of this, I doubt we have the trade chips needed to get such a receiver. Does anyone have a list of WRs who are slated to become FAs after this year? Thats probably our best bet. And I'm not ignoring the problems with the O-Line because I agree that its a mess. Tait and Beekman > Pace and Omiyale. Tait retiring really hurt us.
  19. Saints play the Giants again?
  20. Eh whatever. We had a game like this last year too at Lambeau. Three of the next four at home starting with the Browns next week, we'll be fine. Oh and go Vikes next Sunday, should be a great game.
  21. If they're smart they'll run it the entire game.
  22. Doubt it. Defense wins championships. Happens all the time. We have to beat OSU before we can even think about the title game though.
  23. God. When do the Packers have to play an actual football team? Wait. Don't they essentially play the same teams the Bears do? All the same except for the Bears getting Philly and Atlanta while GB gets Dallas and TB. Philly and Dallas are pretty equal, but when it comes to Atlanta and TB, that is automatically one more loss for the Bears and one more win for GB. Then throw in the fact that most of the tough teams GB does play are at Lambeau. Oh well, assuming Minnesota takes the division, its not really going to matter which of the Bears or Packers get the WC, because neither will go anywhere in the playoffs.
