  1. We have a better chance of winning with Favre playing versus Jackson.
  2. This is what I thought too at first, but I don't know. I think Childress is gone if they lose yesterday's game, and I really didn't want the Bears game to be the game where everyone rallied around a new coach. I don't think they would have just tanked like some are suggesting, but we'll never know for sure. Bottom line is I don't think yesterday's outcome will have much effect on this week's game. The fact remains that the Vikings needed a miracle to beat a below-mediocre team at home, although the Bears did need a comeback to beat an 0-7 team despite the Bills not being as bad since Fitzpatrick took over. So neither team is that good, but hopefully the Bears realize they can't lose 3 straight games at home if they want to consider themselves a playoff team.
  3. Apparently I forgot the Saints in this Wild Card talk assuming the Falcons take the division. So yeah I'm thinking it's going to take 10 wins to get a Wild Card this year.
  4. But the scenario is what would happen if the Packers were 1 game back and won the Week 17 game, which means that if both teams win the rest of their other divisional games, both teams would wind up 5-1 in the division. And in that case the tiebreaker would move to conference record where at the moment it's almost impossible to tell who would have the advantage.
  5. Why would winning the game in week 17 mean they get the division. The Bears haven't lost the division record tiebreaker yet, in fact they are 2-0 in the division, and the Packers 2-1. I'm not sure what you're asking, but if the teams are tied going into Week 17 then the winner of the game obviously gets the division. If the Bears are 1 game back and win they'll get it because they'd win the head-to-head tiebreaker. If the Packers are 1 game back and win they'll most likely (I said probably in the quote above) win the tiebreaker due to divisional record, because the Packers winning the game would improve their divisional record a full game on the Bears' record. So yeah if the Packers stumble against the Lions and Vikings then we'd still have the tiebreaker, but I just don't see that happening. We're more likely to get Packers losses when they play teams like the Falcons, Pats, and Giants.
  6. Oh and the Jets and Patriots games aren't unwinnable games by any means. They should have had losses to both the Lions and Browns today, instead of just the Browns. With both of those games at home, we have to at least get one of those.
  7. Yeah we're not that good but find a way to get in the playoffs and see what happens. Although we didn't make up any ground in the division today, we had a good Wild Card day. Early on it looks like the Eagles and Bucs are the teams we're going to have to battle for those Wild Card spots, with the Week 12 game against Philly looking huge at the moment. We seemed to play well against Vick when he was in Atlanta but this Philly team is probably better than any of those Atlanta teams. I'm not conceding the division by any means, but the Wild Card is probably the more realistic route this team will have to take if they want to be playing in January.
  8. Might as well root for the Bears to finish off the Vikings (what Arizona should have done today). Regardless of whether the Bears are one game back or tied with the Packers going into Week 17, if they win that game in Lambeau they'll get the division. Infact probably the only way that game will be meaningless is if either team is 2 or more games ahead.

  10. Why not just sign Dunn? I want no part of Johnson.
  11. The things I've read from Bills fans suggests they're pretty pissed about having to play this game in Toronto. Apparently the last time they did there were more fans of the opposing team. Might see the same on Sunday. So looks like it's going to be a dome game at a mostly neutral site. With a rested team and a healthy defense, I think we get it done. The Bills defense is pretty horrid, allowing 34 or more points in 5 of their 7 games this year. Bears 27 Bills 21
  12. Put me in the Pro-Moss group. Cutler needs a receiver that will actually go up and get a ball. I thought we had that with Aromashodu, but the guy doesn't even see the field anymore.
  13. Oh I know. I should have worded what I said a bit differently. I was basically referring to the Bears-Packers MNF game thread. Some of the hatred for the Bears became so obvious it was funny. I don't like the Packers, but I can still have respect for their fans, especially if most of the fans on a board I'm posting on are Packers fans.
  14. What the hell is this supposed to mean? It's not like one win against a contending team makes you Super Bowl contenders yourself. Remember when the Bears beat the Colts in 08 and the Steelers last year? You might win the division, but the fact is nobody in our division should be bragging at this point. GB is still a very flawed team. Saying a month ago that the Packers fans on this board are respectful is the biggest plate of crow I have ever eaten.
  15. What happened to "this just isn't our year"?
  16. Pompei is out of his mind.
  17. :yahoo:
  18. I'm usually over heartbreaking losses within a day or two, but this one is still pissing me off 5 days after it happened. From that standpoint, this is a horrible week for a bye. Even though my confidence in this team's ability to beat mediocre teams has been shaken, we don't really face a team that's head and shoulders better than us until the Pats on December 12. So we need to go 3-2 at the very least in these next 5 games, probably 4-1.
  19. Pretty pumped for tomorrow night with the new arena and all, but definitely more pumped for Friday night in what should be the start of a pretty fierce rivalry with the Heat. Assuming the Celtics continue to get older and drop off (weren't they supposed to do this already?), it could be the Magic-Heat show in the East for the forseeable future, with maybe the Bulls sneaking in there eventually. Oh and I love knowing there's about a 95% chance of my team making the playoffs. I have nothing close to that with any other sport.
  20. Lol Williams just got destroyed.
  21. Briggs and Urlacher are both playing. That's great news. Garza, Bowman, and Wright inactive.
  22. I hope you're right because I'm nervous as hell for this game. The first thing we have to do on defense is take away Torain as I don't think they can beat us with the pass alone. On offense, run first and then pass. The O-Line's performance will more than likely be the deciding factor.
  23. Briggs is questionable again and Lovie sounded pretty uncertain of whether or not he would play. With the bye being next week, I could easily see him sitting which is bad news.
  24. Correct. If we can't beat these teams then I don't see us beating the Dolphins, Eagles, Pats, Jets, etc. Also, consider the fact that the Cowboys and Packers aren't that good this year, and none of our wins look impressive anymore. I'm hoping that last week was due to Cutler being rusty and the Seahawks being fresh coming off a bye, but that's probably wishful thinking.
  25. Briggs, Urlacher, C. Harris, Manning, and Wright all practiced today. If there is such a thing as a must-win game in October this is it.
