    Good move -- Z's averaged a high pitch count / game so far. The pen should be able to finish this game fairly easily.

    WSCR is reporting that DLee is not in the lineup today (fouled a ball off his leg yesterday) -- Ward will start @ 1B.

    Sure sounds like it (link): I'll give this move a chance to see if it pays off -- the early response from the Oakland players gives me hope that there is more to Kendall's potential impact than just his bat.

    Wrigley does display pitch speed -- its on the long flat panels along each side of the upper deck. Not exactly in easy view for the batter though.....

    in the remote chance that he would be traded, yes. More importantly, does he still have the range to play SS? He seems a lot bigger (and likely less mobile) since moving to 3B and a hurt hammy isn't going to help him transition back to SS. I think it would take an off-season for him to really work on getting back into the kind of shape needed to be an above average SS again.

    The atmosphere at the match was amazing -- the best I've experienced -- and it was all made better by a great U.S. recovery in the second half. I did got some grief from Mexico fans at the half, but it was all in good fun and I made sure to remind them that it wasn't over yet. I think Feilhaber had a lot of friends/family at the game -- I saw several people near us that wearing his jersey and they were going crazy when he put in the go-ahead goal. Then again, I was going nuts too. What a beautiful shot! :D

    Heading out to Soldier Field now..... sounds like it will be a majority crowd supporting Mexico, so we need to be loud! U.S.A! U.S.A! U.S.A.!

    I had to go with Todd Hundley -- he gets extra points for being the offspring of a much-loved Cub and still becoming one of the most unlikable and unproductive douche bags in Cubs history.

    I really hope Kerry is able to make it back -- he's always been a good guy and he deserves some good luck for a change. I'm still rooting for him.

    You shouldn't -- consider the person responsible for that deal from the Cubs perspective. That said... regardless of his antics and his performance this year and even his risk of injury, trading Zambrano is a terrible idea. And no, you're not going to get a pot of gold for him (at least Jim Hendry isn't), so be careful what you ask for....

    My last bump of this thread.... After clearing a few MLB-licensing hurdles, 'Chasing October' is now available for sale on DVD. The official release date is June 12th, and a pre-sale special price of $18.95 is available via CubsMovie.com with portions of all sales going to Derrek Lee's Project 3000. So I gave the go-ahead, not knowing that you would be able to be online tonight, given the holiday weekend. No worries -- unfortunately, the way this team is going it won't be long till I'm up.
