  2. While we're all waiting, here's a 1940's ST photo... :D http://www.springtrainingonline.com/images/cubs_catalina_2.jpg
  3. The game will be on 560AM.
  4. Actually, what you heard was that season ticket prices would not be increased -- which is still true. Effectively, season ticket holders are able to get the same tickets for $2 less than the general public.
  5. I'm pretty ignorant on how trading players in the NFL affects a team's salary cap, but couldn't the Bears/Eagles swap somewhat similar contracts to help reduce the hit? For example, if the Bears sent Ogunleye to Philly would that reduce the hit on the Eagles for dealing McNabb?
  6. Dan Patrick mentioned the rumor on his radio show today.... something along the lines of McNabb (a Chicago native) being traded to the Bears (for who knows what) and the Eagles going with Garcia as their QB next year. I doubt the rumor is much more than random speculation, but I can't say I wouldn't be very excited if the Bears opened 2007 with McNabb as their #1 QB.
  7. I read that he called it a mild sprain. I'm guessing it'll be a non-issue going forward. Ced is scheduled for an MRI on Tuesday. Hopefully, its nothing more than a mild sprain.
  8. You think the Cubs are going to help your sorrows? I was excited for baseball up until tonight, now I don't even care. Exactly. I know -- I'm screwed. But I am also doomed to keep hoping that one of these years, one of these teams I root for will finally win it all..... I can't stop being a fan. Go Cubs!
  9. Sometimes being a Chicago fan is like getting kicked in the balls. I need baseball to start soon to help me forget this.
  10. WOW!!!    I love Devin Hester!!! GO BEARS!
  11. Simming the game on whatifsports.com seems to favor the Bears more often than not. I like this boxscore. :D
  12. I may misunderstand it, but I think the arbitrator has to pick one or the other rather than "split the middle" of the two offers. One wins; the other loses. If it had gone to an arbitrator, that is correct -- the arbitrator would choose between either offer only. However, I believe wade just meant that the Cubs and Prior agreed to split the difference on a 1-year deal rather than go to arbitration.
  13. Well, I don't get the score down here so someone fill me in. I'm sure its boring stuff the coaches told him to say. If you're really interested, you can always listen online.... 670thescore.com
  14. I'm in. Amazingly, I actually had a better than .500 record in 2006! Hopefully, that mojo continues in '07.
  15. I like this signing - much better having a guy like Ward on the bench than Mabry, Bynum, Macias, Lenny, ...

  17. Are you sure? Cot's has nothing listed for either. Garland had a NTC for the first year of his latest contract (2006) only -- not sure if the Sox gave Contreras a similar 1 year NTC to re-sign.
  18. No thanks -- I'd rather have both Gooz an Gallagher or at least use them to get a more impactful addition to the roster than Jennings.
  19. Jhonny's not going anywhere -- I'd imagine he'd be harder to acquire than Tejada.
  20. Miguel Negron is no longer on the 40-man roster.
  21. Bulger's pathetic performance last week helped end my team's 7 game win streak. I've resisted benching him in favor of Roethlisberger only to see Big Ben outperform Bulger the last 3-4 weeks. So.... what do you think? Stick with Bulger (vs. and improved SF defense) Or start Big Ben (against a tough Ravens D) ?
  22. Seconded. Julius is becoming less and less an option as MB3 takes more carries and gets the majority of rushing TDs.
  23. He will be a 5 and 10 player after 5 years, so he effectively has a no trade clause for all 8 years.
  24. What will be refreshing is if they actually sign an impact player or 2 or 3..... All the rumors and talk mean nothing to me if they don't get the deals done.
