It's an awfully expensive purchase in July. If Edwin Jackson, Fowler and Hammel are all coming off the books along with a few others like Cahill and Wood, I would imagine they could at least try to be competitive with offers on the top closers. I think they would rather save the long term commitment in $$$ for 2017 when Jake and Lackey come off the books and take their chances with a patchwork pen (that still includes guys like Rondon, Strop, Edwards and Grimm) and if it doesn't work out fix it at the deadline. It is expensive this way I agree, I just think the long term commitment preference is starting pitching. Maybe the Indians will be out of it by July and be willing to trade Andrew Miller. :crazy:
