    So, I had a few games picked out that I wanted to grab this year if I could get through early enough. Ironically, for the first time in a long time, none of them are at Wrigley. But today I noticed on the Rays website (going to be in TB for Opening Day so I'd like to catch the game) that they are having a "pre-sale" where single game tickets will be on sale for a few days, but each ticket will cost $10 more. I quickly went to cubs.com where I see they are going to be doing a similar pre-sale but worse (20% hike per ticket). Thankfully, I am not seeing anything like that on the Royals website where I am hoping to grab good seats to all three Cubs games in June. Personally, I don't like it, but I see why MLB is doing this. Do you guys have any problems with it? Do you think it will make the waits any shorter when the tickets do go on sale?

    That game isnt over. Even if they lose, they'll still win the conference. I don't see another loss for them. Maybe @ Baylor. And we still have to win @ Mizzou. As lost as we looked in the hostile environment @ KSU, it's hard to believe we'll win at Paige Arena. I see you both at 14-2. You'll beat Mizzou, you are too athletic for that style to bother you too much. Mizzou Arena.

    Since this is our last spring break before we graduate, my wife and I are going to go to Florida and go on a cruise. However, before we get on the cruise we're going to spend a couple of days in either the Tampa or Orlando area and catch a few ST games. We will be going to games on the last weekend of ST. I have two questions: 1. That late in ST, do teams still hold regular workouts that are easy for the public to see? If so, do the workouts generally happen in the morning before the game or in the evening after the game? 2. For anybody who has been to the facilities in FL and can tell me which are the best ones to go to, I have the options of attending the following games: Fri: DET @ ATL HOU @ NYY Sat: PHI @ DET WAS @ HOU PIT @ NYY TOR @ PHI Sun: PHI @ ATL FL @ WAS DET @ HOU BAL @ TOR Obviously there are certain teams that I'd like to see over others, but if there is a certain stadium that is a must-see I'd rather get to that stadium than worry about what teams I am seeing.

    I've got to jump in here. I was at the game today and there were many bad calls that favored both teams. I lost count of how many bad calls I saw today. I remember seeing many questionable (and some just plain bad) shooting fouls called in the first half when K-State was shooting on the end where I was 6 rows off the court. Not to mention there were three really bad charge calls on Mizzou early in the game that all should have been either blocks or no calls. Also, Safford was called for a foul when going up for a rebound with a K-State player draped over his back. How does that happen? There was a shooting foul called on a Mizzou defender on what clearly should have been a jump ball. Also, I can't remember if it was Bowers or Ricardo that drove to the hoop on the opposite end of the court and you could clearly hear a slap as he went up and no foul was called. Frank wasn't even going that crazy at the officials (in comparison to his normal antics). Believe me, when a bad call goes against Frank, he goes nuts. To act like there was any homerism today is just ridiculous. It was just another poorly officiated Big XII game. Save the whining for your kU game. There will be plenty of homerism there.

    I absolutely love that the NFC South teams were dispatched in such an embarrassing way. Can't imagine a more intense NFC Championship setting (except Vikings/Packers and only because of #4). I do think the Packers are the superior team but Lovie Smith's personal vendetta against the Packers seems to have him well prepared every time they face off. Personally, I think it's a good quality in a coach/team.

    None of it is going to matter if the bullpen is terrible again.

    My opinion. None of the individual events are anything to get worked up about (except maybe the Anderson thing), but the accumulation of events that all seem to stem from Morgan having a chip on his shoulder towards the world is what makes him seem like a douche. I almost wonder if he has some serious off-field issues going on that are causing him to lose his cool on the field. He can't seem to take the heat from fans or players.

    Of course the plan will be to hire the right "manager of the future" this offseason. What, did you think they'd just hire any old guy and figure, "eh, we'll just fire him in a year"? I didn't say they shouldn't plan on hiring the right manager this offseason, but if they're not happy with their options why should they commit to one of those guys for many years, especially when the team likely won't be real contenders next season? Obviously, best case scenario they get their man this offseason and that guy is a good manager. I just don't want them to settle for somebody and be stuck with him for a long stretch. Now, trying to find a manager that signs only a one or two year deal on a team that appears to not be serious contenders would not be an easy task.

    I think this relates to this conversation. I think the Ricketts are going to keep Hendry, and I like it. I don't approve of the way this team has been handled by Hendry over the last 6 years or so, but I think a lot of that had to do with pressure from the Tribune company to win now. Hendry has done pretty well for himself in other areas as GM. It seems the mistakes have nearly always been in a push for "the final piece." The Ricketts are intelligent people, and I think their plans include a rebuilding mode for the next couple of years while still being moderately competitive in a not-so-good division. I hope they do not think they have to go out and get their manager of the future this offseason though. To me, they still have a couple of years to decide on the right one, rather than the available one.

    Why do all of Hendry's contracts have NTC, Player Options, and dollar figures more than other teams were willing to give? Also, take into account that supposedly players love to play for the Cubs. Aggravating.

    Mizzou is going to be left out in the cold. This is horrible. Just when the basketball program was turning around and we were doing better keeping our own high school kids in Missouri (football).

    Going to the Iowa game in Memphis today. Does anybody know when their gates open? I cannot find it online. Pumped about seeing Ryno. My brother saw him in Nashville earlier this year and he got to talk to him for a long time. Hope that happens again today.

    Should have been 3 perfectos in less than a month (and 4 in less than a calendar year). That would have been amazing.

    Lou does realize that the position on the field doesn't have to dictate where the player hits in the lineup, right? I guess he didn't want to erase very much after scratching Lee. That would be too hard. Just swap some people around in the middle of the order because he at least recognized Baker isn't a #3 hitter (or maybe Trammell told him). I am so sick of seeing bench players hitting in the middle of the order because they are starting for one of the perennial #3 or #4 hitters. It is especially aggravating when good players are hitting 6,7,8.

    Stupidity all around on that play. Colvin never should have dove. Karstens was not hustling. Milledge shouldn't have made the last out at third with 2 outs and the pitcher trying to score from first. Wow, thought I had to include Timmy the ump on the stupidity wagon. Soriano is the only bright one on the play. Irony? Yes.
