What kind of 2-0 swing was that?

Love that the Cubs rake for an entire inning (literally, all 6 batters) and get one run. The Pirates hit one ball hard and get two runs.

It was VERY prominent in the 8th yesterday. Went around like 4 times. I was disgusted. Seriously? Somebody needs to put a stop to this. I did hear some fans booing while the wave was making its rounds. Grabow continues to be awesome.

I'm assuming they're all busting out the powder blues? Actually, the umps are wearing powder blue, the Rays were wearing some ugly blue (I guess it's powder, but it doesn't look exactly the same) with their white pants. The Royals were wearing their ugly royal blue alternates with their gray pants. It did not seem like a MLB game at all.

OT: The Rays unis today are hideous, especially next to the Royals. Feel like I'm watching a traveling team game where they let the kids design the unis. EDIT: Also, the noisemakers make it feel like a Japanese League game. EDIT2: Wow, even the umps got in the act with the hideous unis.

I think part of Wells' success hinges on his ability to pitch effectively out of the stretch. He mixes his timings and delivery very well. He seems to let the hitters sit in the box just up to that point where they begin to get uncomfortable, and then he pitches just before they attempt to call time. This can be unnerving and annoying for hitters. Plus, he usually hits his spot...

From PA to radio to TV the Cardinals are the worst for this reason: When it comes to discussing the Cubs, they are so completely unprofessional. I know that I am biased in this discussion, but seriously. You cannot get through a broadcast on radio or TV where they don't take pot-shots at the Cubs no matter who they are playing or what the division standings are at the time. Also, pay attention to the PA announcer at Busch when the Cubs are in town. Can the guy get any more childish? I could be wrong, but I don't know any team where the newspaper, radio, TV, and even PA hate on another team as much as the STL media and PA do on the Cubs. You don't get it the other way around. Len, Bob, Pat and Ron may want the Cardinals to lose and even say so on air, but they don't belittle individual players, coaches and fans of the Cardinals. Not to mention you can listen to their radio broadcast for two innings and not know what the score is, but if the Cubs are losing somewhere else you'll probably be told that. Also, Milo Hamilton is horrible. -
I'd take 8/136 over 5/125 for anyone. Me too.

Even though it's only one game, if Silva has a horrible outing tonight, the outlook on the season is going to be about as low as possible at this point without any major injuries.

These kind of rash decisions are the reason Lou needs to go. Even if this turns out to be a good idea, he's making a decision based on three starts in which Z gave up a lot of broken-bat and/or seeing-eye singles. It's similar to him deciding that Theriot needs to move down in the order against lefties because he was 1-for-11 off of them.
