  2. If I enter my zip code I get this message. https://getmarqueesportsnetwork.com/providers/ “Sorry, but you’re zip code is outside of the network territory. Please contact your provider regarding potential availability via out-of-market sports packages.” Others have said on twitter they’ve contacted DirecTV and gotten a wide range of responses. That doesn’t surprise me at all having dealt with DirecTV in the past. If I had to bet, things will be just like the YES network, but holy cow the roll out has been clear as mud to this point.
  3. Agreed with above. However, I think many believed they would be able to get the rest of the channel content minus the games if they were out of market. Right now the Marquee twitter account says that is not possible. I’m not 100% convinced that is true. For instance, on DirecTV if I have the sports package and MLBEI I currently get YES and all Yankees games. I had been assuming the same would be true for MSN, but now I’m not so sure. 4. Len and JD are great together. I really hope the third person is an extremely rare thing.
  5. Absolutely hate that rule..
  6. Angels Mets Royals Blue Jays Rockies Diamondbacks Despite two titles being a Marlins fan would be awful. Now if it was just based on the years I was following baseball (about 1994 on): Angels Astros Royals Mariners Rockies Diamondbacks
  7. Is there any chance Ross was partially favored because they think he can help them retain via long term extension any of the current players (Bryant)?
  8. If I had to choose between Dusty Baker and John Smoltz to manage the Cubs I’d take Dusty without even thinking about it.
  9. Moved into a house 3 weeks after a murder took place. Didn’t know until after we moved in. Actually found specs of blood on the wall... House was definitely in better shape when we left it than when we had arrived 7 months earlier. The guy kept $100 of our $500 deposit. I called to ask why he kept the $100. He would never answer the phone. I finally got his receptionist and asked that he return my call. He called me screaming about harassing his receptionist. He then told me a long list of completely made up damages to the house: cigarette burns in the carpet (brand new carpet because the stab victim bled out on the old carpet, we don’t smoke), said the kitchen counter was completely broken off and in the floor, the door and doorframe was scratched to pieces by a dog we must have had living with us (we did not have a dog, nor did one ever come in the house), etc. When I asked him why he didn’t keep or entire deposit and sue us for me. “Because I’m a nice guy and I also went to Mizzou and I’m trying to help out a fellow alum.”
  10. Seriously? Dusty is still getting interviews? That has to be an Andy MacPhail move. Dusty makes Joe Maddon look like a coaching savant by comparison. Does Bryce like Dusty?
  11. Dusty getting an interview with the Phillies.
  12. Great weather. Saturday afternoon. NLCS Game 2. Big fan favorite starting pitcher against local high school and college star. $7.00 on StubHub...
  13. That's a weirdly strong stance. Why? I don’t think managers can make a large positive influence, but I do believe they can make a large negative influence. Ross could work out just fine, but I do think the best manager candidate would be SLIGHTLY more strict than Joe on day to day operations of the team. Maybe I’m completely off base, but it doesn’t seem like Ross is the right guy to do that. Either he won’t at all and it will be status quo (which could very well work, I have my doubts), or if he tries to be more strict I’m not sure how his former teammates will respond. I don’t want to overemphasize what I said above, because I think it’s admittedly a small chance that it blows up. I’d rather just not take that chance. In general, I want somebody who has previous coaching/managing experience. I get that catcher in MLB is almost a pseudo coach. I’m just very, very uncomfortable with Ross, and maybe I’m not even 100% sure why.
  14. I’m just going to go on the record and say that I think David Ross is a recipe for disaster. I’m very opposed.
  15. This postseason is just making me more angry at the Cubs.
  16. Go Dodgers. We don’t need the Cardinals facing the Nationals to go to the World Series.
  17. First base umpire has been a huge part of this game today.
  18. Sure wish Wong’s double was ruled foul.
  19. He was on normal rest on Sunday, he’ll be on normal rest tomorrow and he’ll be on normal rest if he has to pitch in a Game 5. It literally changes nothing for them. Plus it kept him on his normal routine and meant he didn’t have 9 days (or whatever it would be) between starts. I thought rest between Game 2 and Game 5 in the DS was short rest always? For quite a few years now the format has been Game 1 Game 2 Off Day Game 3 Game 4 Off Day Game 5 Years ago there was no off day between games 4 and 5.
  20. I like the one game way more than I thought I would. However, I wish there was a way for a wild card to be able to earn a LDS spot in place of a division winner. Say, the first wild card has to finish at least 10 games ahead of the worst division winner. That way when two teams finish with 100 wins in a tough division and another team wins their division with 85 wins they swap spots. In general I just hate small divisions and would rather there only be two divisions in each league. In that scenario two division champs and the best wild card all get to play in the LDS and wild cards 2 and 3 play the death match game.
  21. Glad the +3 RD Brewers are done. In terms of rooting interests: Twins/A’s Rays Nationals Braves Astros Yankees Dodgers Cardinals Basically if the Cardinals could not win a pennant or World Series I’m good.
  22. I'm trying to be optimistic, but at this point I think it is extremely unlikely that the Brewers don't make the playoffs. With the Cubs and Cardinals playing each other 7 times, and the Brewers playing garbage teams, they are going to pass one if not both teams. Brewers are totally making the playoffs.
  23. I’ve basically not watched since about sometime in May. Mainly because watching this team just hasn’t been fun. I thought I’d settle in for a nice routing when I saw it was 10-1. Win or lose, I’m not exactly going to be running to the TV tomorrow.
  24. Cubs OBP against Teheran was over .500, so that was cool.
