  1. I mean, no way Javy was running out of the box right? Don’t understand what is going on the last two nights.
  2. I think we’re going to need a hard hit out or for one of these next two batters to bail him out.
  3. 7 BB + 3 1B + 2 2B + 3B + WP + 0 CS + 0 DP + 0 TOOTBLAN = 3 R and 10 LOB in 4 innings. Cool.
  4. There isn’t going to be a bottom of the 9th is there?
  5. Last year this date I was recovering from my first round of chemo. This year I’m driving with my dad and brothers down to Texas for Saturday’s game. 7 months remission baby.

  7. They really should have just eliminated warm-ups on the mound if you come in after an inning starts and also eliminated the manager walking to the mound to make the pitching change. If the manager walks to the mound it should have counted as a visit even if the pitcher is removed. Also, are there ways to list a player as a two-way player (pitcher and position player), since they have new rules on when position players can/can’t pitch?
  8. I feel they need to start prioritizing postseason games finishing instead of starting when all 4 time zones can actually watch.
  9. Do you have to face 3 batters if you finish an inning after facing only 1 or 2 batters?
  10. I wasn’t a big Theriot fan, but I was pretty proud of my fantasy team name: TheRiot on the Red Line.
  11. That’s the deal? Seriously?

  13. If minor league baseball and college baseball can coexist, why can't the same thing happen in football? The difference is college football makes a lot more money. But a league that paid it's players wouldn't drain that much talent from the big college programs. Or rather it would do so equally among the better programs. There's still quite a lot of value for most football players to go to college. I’m not going to say more about it because I don’t feel like arguing, but I’ve lost basically all interest in NCAA football and basketball. It won’t happen, but I would welcome professional leagues where the quality of play is better than NCAA. Especially if they’re made up of guys basically 18-24 that have legit chances of playing NFL/NBA. Personally I’m ready for those types of leagues to be separated from universities entirely. Plus, the talent would be much more concentrated and be able to pull from a wider pool.
  14. In my opinion the most exciting iteration of one of these leagues is if it becomes a viable alternative to NCAA for future NFL stars.
  15. Is there any chance if this gains traction that elite high school players will choose this league instead of college? Is that even allowed?
  16. My brother and I were taken to Cardinals Caravan by family friends that we often went to baseball games with. We were going to see Ozzie Smith because despite being Cubs fans my dad loved Ozzie. My parents were admittedly naive enough to send their two sons in Cubs stuff to such an event. So we’re in line for autographs and get close to the stage. I’m pretty excited to see Ozzie and Brian Jordan. Mike Shannon or Al Hrabsoky (not sure which Neanderthal it was) sees our hats and asks us to come up to the stage. To a crowd of a few thousand people, “I just want to show you all what an idiot looks like.” Fredbird then grabbed the hat from my head and threw it into the crowd. I never got it back. I was 7 or 8 and my brother would have been 6 or 7. Thank goodness, because it solidified my lifelong feelings towards the classiest organization in baseball.
  17. Maybe the Ricketts are just trying to drive up the odds in Vegas and their rich buddies are going to place bets on the Cubs signing Harper at very long odds? Right? RIGHT?
  18. Yet I also still prefer them over most other owners. If that makes sense.
  19. If we win 95+ and a World Series this year I’m still going to be pissed at the Ricketts.
