I feel as if the focus isn't there today by the Cubs. Not sure why. It just seems that way to me.

Other positive (for now) news: St. Louis is down 2-1 after 6 to Houston. That won't last. STL has not looked very good in this homestand against the measly Astros.

I like his approach and pitch selection but not what he's doing with the pitches.

Some positives to take from today: It looks like many of the hitters are taking a better approach in my opinion (minus Soriano). Some of the relievers looked good. The Cardinals bullpen sucks, still.

Hey this time last year the favored Cubs were 1-0 and the Cards were 0-1. Maybe we'll win the division this time.

My mom was having complications with a pregnancy in 2000 when I was sitting in a doctor's office in St. Louis reading SI. They re-ran this story, but I know that it could not have been around April Fools (unless the issue was a few months old). I was completely convinced (as a 12-year-old). If I remember correctly it was in a countdown of amazing feats or something like that. The other feats were all true. Clearly I missed something, but I remember telling my dad about it and he just laughed and told me it was an old hoax.

You're probably tired of hearing about it, but I have to gloat once more while I still can. Before the Baylor loss yesterday I was ranked 373 out of 2.2 million (so I'm told) Yahoo! brackets.

Well, 1-for-2 today. Really wanted to go into tomorrow with the chance at getting all four in. Unfortunately, the one that's out is the one I had winning it all.

First place!! Of course, I can only get points from Duke winning tomorrow and Kentucky making it to the title game. I bragged about my great first round in picking things and then Villanova (a FF team) lost in the first game of the second round and Kansas (my winner) lost in the third. Then I'm probably doomed tomorrow. I sure wish I could go back and pick Ohio St. instead of Michigan St. to come out of that bracket. I'd leave everything else the same though.

I didn't really like the play-by-play but Gus Johnson and the game were still very fun to watch. Nothing was ruined here. Uhh, Gus Johnson is the play-by-play guy. My bad, I was thinking color and Gus Johnson at the same time and typed play-by-play. I didn't like the color commentator.

I didn't really like the color commentary but Gus Johnson and the game were still very fun to watch. Nothing was ruined here.
